Richard and Abby: August 2012

http://richardandabby.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 21, 2012. College: Is it worth it? So I have several YouTube Channels that I subscribe to. One of these is the Vlog Brothers. Today's video was by John and it was titled Is College Worth It? It seemed particularly fitting that today's video should be on this subject, because today:. I AM OFFICIALLY HIRED! I am now an employee at Solar Wave. I'll start training Monday to be a PV designer. I will design solar panel systems! I am absolutely in love with the job and company! 1/3 Cup White Win...

Richard and Abby: Maui nō ka ʻo

http://richardandabby.blogspot.com/2014/07/maui-no-ka-o.html

Sunday, July 6, 2014. Maui nō ka ʻo. Maui nō ka ʻo! It basically means Maui is the best. IT IS 100% accurate! This was our first trip back since our honey moon almost exactly 5 years earlier. We got to stay in the same hotel for the first 3 nights and then spend 2 nights with Richards family a little ways down the coast. (Three day weekend 1 comp day). Sadly, as seems to be our trend lately, we barely took any photos. But we had the most wonderful time! And they even let me drive the boat! It was so grea...

Thursday, November 22, 2012. Lovin the vida Hilo! I just got on to do a Thanksgiving post and realized I never finished our Hilo trip post from last month! It still isn't finished but I figured I'd post what I have at least:. One of the perks of our job is that sometimes their are off island job sites and if they need you, they pay your air and hotel to come out and work! We had a health center on the Big Island that we were doing and install on and Richard and I got to fly out! It is so much more rural!

Monday, July 23, 2012. This guy's version of Pachelbel's Canon comes on my Pandora station and I just love it. I thought hey I'll embed it so that people can listen to it while they read the older posts :). Sunday, July 22, 2012. Last time we tried the Manoa Falls Trail, it was closed because it was raining. I'm so glad we tried again! Being us, we spent far more time getting distracted along the trail then at the destination. We found this beautiful Brown Anole guarding his rock wall. Hey look at that!

Richard and Abby: October 2012

http://richardandabby.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Just uploaded the pictures from this weekends adventure and I had to share this one:. A real post about the trip will follow soon :). Saturday, October 20, 2012. Pali Hwy connects North Honolulu to the Windward(east) side of the island. It is a very nice drive and the few times we have taken it we have seen people parked at what seem to be trail heads. Today we decided to check one of them out:. I love that it is late October and there are still hundreds of flowers in bloom.

Between the Volcanoes: March came in like a lamb..

http://thefivebakers.blogspot.com/2013/03/march-came-in-like-lamb.html

Monday, March 11, 2013. March came in like a lamb. So it will probably go out like a lion. In the meantime we are basking in this warm, early spring weather and taking fun pictures. I've been spending some 'quality' time ;) with Peggie; taking a great hike up at the Spatter Cones Trail and checking out the lambs her ewes have been dotting the ranch lands with. First the hike. Papa and I have done the Spatter Cones. The views, as usual, were beautiful. Here are a couple more images of the area at the top ...

Richard and Abby: June 2013

http://richardandabby.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Monday, June 24, 2013. So Richard was approached with an interesting proposition to make some of his goggles as an incentive for a video game creator's KickStarter project. Their page just went live today and since then it has raised over $10,000! By the time I finished writing this it hit $12,000) If they make their goal, all of the 'The City is Green' level backers will be getting awesome custom goggles from Ricks SteamPunk Etc! Each one will be a little different, but these are of one of the pairs:.

Richard and Abby: A little bit of catch up!

http://richardandabby.blogspot.com/2014/07/a-little-bit-of-catch-up.html

Sunday, July 6, 2014. A little bit of catch up! So its been over 8 months since I did a real blog post. Needless to say plenty has happened. Unfortunately there was very little photo documenting of it all. However here is a ridiculously quick recap:. Got an awesome deal on a 2012 VW Turbo Beetle:. Had a very Happy Halloween! Had a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn't be beat! Enjoyed snow in Hawaii. They make it snow bubbles in the mall here for Christmas). Had an awesome Christmas! Caught a big ol toad:.

Between the Volcanoes: March 2012

http://thefivebakers.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Mad as a March hare. The weather, that is. It's behaving as unpredictably as Lewis Carrol's proverbial crazy rabbit! Spring can't make up it's mind about coming in like a lamb, going out like a lion or vice versa; we've had it both ways the past coupla weeks. After one quick snow storm we then luxuriated in 7 glorious days of unseasonable super-warm weather - I'm talkin' 65º in the shade! Here's what we found this morning:. You'll have to click on pic to see it). We're heading to...

Abroad with JJ

Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Before I left for America for Christmas vacation I helped the teen girls of my center cook Moldovan Gingerbread cookies. I call them Moldovan Gingerbread cookies because we were lacking certain ingredients that allowed them to brown and also lacked any kind of formal kind cookie cutters. So in traditional Moldovan style we improvised and still had a successful and fun time. The girls reading the directions in Romanian and preparing the ingredients:. Friday, January 14, 2011.
