Just Asking: March 2007
http://pedicularis.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 28, 2007. I realized that we conservatives seem to be losing a war of words. Congress is voting on withdrawing from the "Iraq War" today. But Iraq is not a "War" but a "Battle". Withdrawing from the Iraqi Battle will not end the war, but it does guarantee that we will lose that battle, which would be a major setback in the War against Terrorists. Posted by Pedicularis @ 2:17 PM. Why don't they just admit they are not patriotic? Posted by Pedicularis @ 1:53 PM. Saturday, March 24, 2007.
Just Asking: February 2007

Sunday, February 25, 2007. The Chilly Hill is a annual bike ride event on an island in Pugut Sound. 33 miles, hilly with over 2,600 feet gain and loss, and chilly, since it is always held in February. I rode it in the mid-80's and again this year. It was easier last time. There were probably over 1,000, maybe 1,500 riders on my ferry to the island. It took me about 3.5 hours to ride the course. Here is a photo of the 1,000 or so riders loading onto the return ferry. Posted by Pedicularis @ 9:43 PM. Histo...
Just Asking: November 2006

Wednesday, November 29, 2006. I had a bout with PVD over the weekend. I had flashing lights in my eyes and more floaters. I was afraid I had a detached retina, so I went to an eye doctor. I had never heard of PVD, but apparently it is quite common in old folks my age. The following quote from a medical web page describes my experiences pretty accurately:. Monday, January 29, 2007. My current favority homemade latte flavor is a splash of eggnog soy coffee creamer along with a half cup of chocolate soy milk. I make it with regular coffee. The first time I tried it I did not greatly like it, but the second cup was yummy. :). Posted by Pedicularis @ 8:58 AM. Sunday, January 28, 2007. Posted by Pedicularis @ 10:51 PM. Just Asking: December 2006

Thursday, December 28, 2006. What I am and what I am not. I consider myself to be halfway between an engineer (who actually designs and oversees construction of things) and a scientist (who collects and analyzes data on scientific topics). I think of myself as a "Physical scientist" and I prefer to work in the world of Newtonian physics (no relativity, no high-energy physics). Posted by Pedicularis @ 9:21 PM. The Accidental Pumpkin | Lost, Found, and Deliciously Local
Lost, Found, and Deliciously Local. May 13, 2013. Book Review: Container Gardening for Health, by Barbara Barker. Have you heard of the Environmental Working Group’s ‘Dirty Dozen’ and ‘Clean 15′ lists? They highlight the 12 fruits and veggies that are tested, and have the most pesticide residue on them. In contrast, the ‘Clean 15′ have the least amount (which is not to say no residue, necessarily…). Thanks, Barbara Barker, for a great book! Dirty dozen and clean fifteen. What to buy organic. The book sho...
