Exploring the Pacific Northwest: DC: Vietnam
http://so-be-it-net.blogspot.com/2009/05/dc-vietnam.html
Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. March 23. The Vietnam Memorial was quite powerful. It's like a huge gash in the the landscape. You walk in from either direction and descend deeper and deeper into lists of names. The wall is so reflective that you see yourself and the environment superimposed over the names. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). DC: Stopover in Chicago. A Bird in the Hand. A touch of Corrie-ography. Well, it's been awhile.

Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. March 23. We took the Metro in from our hotel in Silver Spring and got off at the Smithsonian stop. This takes you right up to the National Mall, directly in between the Congress building and the Washington Monument. It kind of takes your breath away. There's the Washington Monument! David touching the stone of the giant obelisk. The Monument, seen from the World War II Monument fountains.

Exploring the Pacific Northwest: November 2008
http://so-be-it-net.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Wednesday, November 26, 2008. November 20 was a rainy and sunny day with lots of rainbows. I saw this in the morning, driving across Farmington Road. That afternoon, a double rainbow over the OES playground. It stretched across the entire sky. On November 17, I arrived at school and opened my car door to find this huge. Bonzo by my car door. Do you have any treats for me? But none so fat as Bonzo. The Masters program begins.

Exploring the Pacific Northwest: January 2009
http://so-be-it-net.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Monday, January 26, 2009. January 9th. Early signs of spring. Flowering shrubs next to our bedroom window. On January 5, Roberta and I had ramen at Hakatamon. It was good, but I think I like the noodle style better at Teriyaki Bowl. These noodles were a little on the light side. On January 4th, David and I decided to walk the Rock Creek Trail. We'll have to return in the summer and see what this marshy area looks like then.

It's definitely a place he returns to. The Memorial is crowded, of course, but also peaceful. We had both cameras going on this trip.

Exploring the Pacific Northwest: December 2008
http://so-be-it-net.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Wednesday, December 31, 2008. My parents came by to pick Sara up. When they left, it started snowing again, so they stopped for some photos. I took these out of our window. Sara taking a picture of me taking a picture, Dad wanting to go home, and Mom trying to catch snowflakes on her tongue. Meeting Sara at MAX. The short walk was treacherous. And there she is, with only a backpack, and without a hat, of course! More shapes, ma...

Exploring the Pacific Northwest. Mostly posts about food, trees, and weather. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. March 23. The Lincoln Memorial was our first destination in DC. It has to be. After all, isn't this where Jimmy Stewart goes straight to in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington? It's definitely a place he returns to. The Memorial is crowded, of course, but also peaceful. We had both cameras going on this trip. Larger than life and twice as natural. I thought this was an interesting image. DC: Stopover in Chicago.
