A Crafty Teacher: November 2012

http://www.acraftyteacher.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 1, 2012. Quick Talk, Book Recs. Just a quick post about a way to share books in your classroom. I have been reading "The Book Whisperer" and wanted to find a way for my kiddos to share book recommendations with one another. I have tried bulletin boards with the recommendations. but that never seems to get far. It is more of a requirement than an actual tool they used. I wanted them talking about their books and sharing titles. Quick Talk, Book Recs. Vanna, The Crafty Teacher.

A Crafty Teacher: October 2012

http://www.acraftyteacher.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 30, 2012. Today I introduced my students to Pilgrims, Thanksgiving, Wampanoags, and the Plymouth colony. We started the lesson with reading "The Pilgrims' First Thanksgiving" by Ann McGovern. It is a great intro book that covers the basics of what occured and what led to the first Thanksgiving. Picture courtesy of amazon.com. We then went back in time to 1620, aboard the Mayflower. I showed my students the electronic field trips from the Plimoth Planation website. Here is the link.

A Crafty Teacher: August 2015

http://www.acraftyteacher.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 24, 2015. Meet Your Teacher Night. We had Meet Your Teacher Night on Tuesday! I had almost all of my parents and students come! That is a busy night full of new faces and lots of school supplies! To make things flow as easily as possible, I set up stations around the room for parents to stop at. Stop 1- signing in and picking up necessary paperwork that has to be signed by all parents for the school. I also made flip charts this year to give out to all families in my class. If you have alr...

Sunday, February 8, 2009. Songwriting (3) - Dummy Lyrics and Song Outline. Let's get right to things.  . From the last post was to fix the scansion of Oil Bin, and choose whether you want masculine or feminine rhyme. A Crafty Village | Tales from Great Hatfield

Tales from Great Hatfield. A crafty view on village life. May 28, 2011 by acraftyvillage. I can’t grow vegetables or sew a straight line and the birds turn their nose up at my cakes, but I love wood and can’t resist buying old furniture that I can transform with a sander and a tin of paint. From the recognition of my shortcomings came the germ of an idea that has grown into A Crafty Village. A leaflet drop around our gorgeous village brought forth a wealth of talent just waiting to be discovered. A Craft...
