A hobbyist playing with Robotics and Arduino. Sunday, 15 January 2012. Sensor wires are small. So small in fact that screw terminals sometimes can't grip them properly and the available pin crimps that I had just wouldn't crimp correctly. I needed some kind of breakout board for them to attach to the Mega screwshield. In addition to this there wasn't any space left on the Wild Thumper to mount anything without building a 2nd level. It sends and receive 10-byte LightwaveRF 434MHz messages. I have successfully used it to switch sockets on and off and to detect button presses on a remote control and to detect windows and door switches opening and closing. I am using it with the Cool components 434Mhz transmitter. I have tested it with an Arduino Uno and a JeeLink. Raspberry Pi with JeeLink.

Things I know I will need to do:. Compile the MINIX kernel for the microcontroller in question (if this hasn't already been done). Familiarise myself with the appropriate toolchain (e.g. GCC). Learn about device drivers. Learn assembler appropriate to the microcontroller I opt to use. Document everything I do and learn. What I want to do.
