A Diabetic and Her Sleeve. One diabetic's journey to change her life forever…. I promise to put more into this over the next week or so, but for now here is the down and dirty version of ‘About Me’…. I’m a 30 year old woman living in the Portland Metro area of the beautiful state of Oregon! I recently bought my first home, I have a adorable 8 year old dog named Besita. She’s a mutt, a mix of bichon, maltese and poodle, and she’s my fur child. I am single, and am very happy that way! And so it begins.

Yesterday was the orientation class at OHSU in Portland and I’ve already got my ‘New Patient’ appointments scheduled for August 26th. I’m scared to death of the changes this will require, but am far more excited to be off the medications and not worried about being on kidney dialysis by age 40. So, here we go! Share, Support, Love, Encourage. October 14, 2015. Today, well technically yesterday (10/13/15) is/was my 3 month #Surgiversary . Boy has this journey been incredible. I totally feel like I have learned more about myself in these last three months than I have in a long time. I have my “3 month post-op” visit with my surgeon and internist on this day. I cant wait to see where I’m at at that point. I’m hoping to be 219 pounds which would make me down a total of 50 pounds in three months. Who am I, right?
