All My Seams: My Favorite New Thing
http://allmyseams.blogspot.com/2013/04/my-favorite-new-thing.html
Stitching my way through life. Wednesday, April 17, 2013. My Favorite New Thing. A few webcasts ago, Peggy Sagers had a cute little pincushion- a Project Runway collectible. When I saw it, I just coveted it so. I started searching online, to no avail. And then, one day- there it was on Ebay. I couldn't believe it! I bid on it, and was the only bidder. I suppose that speaks volumes about my taste in pincushions! I don't care. It is wonderful and I love it. 16 Talk to me:. And its so cute! So cute - Ive ne...

All My Seams: Cell Phone Bag, Patterns and Fabric- Oh My!
http://allmyseams.blogspot.com/2013/01/cell-phone-bag-patterns-and-fabric-oh-my.html
Stitching my way through life. Saturday, January 19, 2013. Cell Phone Bag, Patterns and Fabric- Oh My! The fabric is a crazy upholstery sample that has little tufts of thread that reminds me of eyelashes. I love this little bag, and will make more. There are many times I don't want to carry a big purse but need my license, a card or two and some money. This will be perfect. My brown pants are still not sewn, and are waiting on a hanger. I have nothing brown to wear with them, so I have to find a patt...

All My Seams: New Year, New Beginnings
http://allmyseams.blogspot.com/2014/01/new-year-new-beginnings.html
Stitching my way through life. Wednesday, January 1, 2014. New Year, New Beginnings. So, I haven't shut down Mom's blog yet as you can see. And since I have not, I decided to give an update on what's been going on around here since September. Here's a question for the sewers out there. Do people buy used sewing machines? I have probably 6 that need a home. Should I try to sell them, or just give them away? They were all very expensive when new, and they have been well cared for. 31 Talk to me:. Yes, peop...

The Flowery Skirt: Huuge achievement today
http://floweryskirt.typepad.com/the_flowery_skirt/2010/08/huuge-achievement-today.html
Sewing and other things I do. I made three headbands. Yeah Excuse the drunk look. Rosey cheeks and all. (Actually the photo looks pretty good. Blured but good. Taken randomly with the phone.). Why do I look like that, you ask? Well I can breathe much better BUT Iv got a rush, which means an allergic reaction (? Ive been loughing at myself all day long. This is totally hilarious, ha! Im not leaving the house. Indefinitely. Enough of that already, yes? Im not really into rants. Made the flower, too. On the...

bridge street: cowl neck scarf top
http://bridgestreetblog.blogspot.com/2014/05/cowl-neck-scarf-top.html
Thursday, May 15, 2014. Cowl neck scarf top. So, back in August of 2012 I started a top. I made it out of a yard of beautiful, flowy, sheer, scarf-like woven fabric that I bought at JoAnn Fabrics in the red tag section. And by woven, I mean that it is not stretchy. Did I use that woven term correctly? I stashed the fabric away for at least a year because I didn't know what to make from it. But then I came across McCalls 6604. And decided it was a match. Belted and unbelted. Not in that order. But once I ...

bridge street: grey maxi skirt
http://bridgestreetblog.blogspot.com/2014/05/grey-maxi-skirt.html
Monday, May 12, 2014. Is it specific or is it pretty broad? I need to get myself educated. All I know is that I liked this fabric and I wanted it to be a maxi skirt. So I bought it. Yep, just keep telling yourself that. I wore this skirt for a few months without hemming it. I couldn't decide how I wanted to finish it. And then the sewing gods inspired my friend, Lindsay, to give me four skeins of grey serger thread. Coincidence? I think not. Perfect. After wearing it a few more. Months, some of the seam ...

bridge street: baby bloomers
http://bridgestreetblog.blogspot.com/2014/05/baby-bloomers.html
Saturday, May 31, 2014. This morning I made some baby bloomers for a friend's baby shower using a free pattern found here. Super easy. Super cute. There are no specifications in the instructions on what length to cut the elastic for the waist or the legs. I ended up guessing and doing 18" for the waist and just eyeballing it for the legs. Hopefully they work out for the new baby they're intended for. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Lower your presser foot. Erica B.'s - D.I.Y. Style!
