Wit's End: Thrifting

http://wits-end1.blogspot.com/2012/01/thrifting.html

Monday, January 16, 2012. Being thrifty, I love it. I'm all over bargains, clearance shelves and deals. Surprisingly, I'm not a huge collector of coupons but this is because I don't often see coupons for things I honestly need. Some of my favorite ways to save though are these:. Making my own laundry soap. It only takes 20 min and a couple of dollars. Unless you've had a child who was always ruining clothes, you have no idea how awesome this is. Might I add that you can pass them on to the next child?

Wit's End: September 2010

http://wits-end1.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 2, 2010. Life is an opportunity, benefit from it. Life is a beauty, admire it. Life is bliss, taste it. Life is a dream, realise it. Life is a challenge, meet it. Life is a duty, complete it. Life is a game, play it. Life is costly, care for it. Life is wealth, keep it. Life is love, enjoy it. Life is mystery, know it. Life is a promise, fulfill it. Life is sorrow, overcome it. Life is a song, sing it. Life is a struggle, accept it. Life is tragedy, confront it. Life is luck, make it.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Stand up. Speak out. Taking classes from a secular college with some extremely secularly-minded teachers has led me to some interesting conversations, at many times frustrated me to distraction, and more often spurred me to say and write my. Opinion and beliefs in my assignments. It's led me to find creative ways to find out how to make them a necessary part my of speech or paper and the fact that my teacher must. As Christians we are commanded to live out our faith. I'm...

Wit's End: Fun with Fabric

http://wits-end1.blogspot.com/2012/04/fun-with-fabric.html

Thursday, April 26, 2012. I finally decided to put my awesome Christmas present to work and whip out some projects. I made this for a friend who just had a baby. My own daughter has gone crazy over toys that crinkle so I hope this baby appreciates the color, tags, and crunchiness too. Just some super soft burp cloths for the same baby. So proud of myself for finally finishing Elsie's curtains! I'm super happy with the fabric my sister helped me pick out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Wit's End: August 2011

Tuesday, August 2, 2011. Of Love and Logic. As a Christian, I see the consequences of sin, whether they are physical, spiritual or psychological, as natural boundaries put in place by God. Whether you believe in God or not, you are still bound by the laws of nature on this earth. Supporting, allowing or encouraging people to engage in homosexuality is hurtful to them, and the negative health effects associated with homosexuality are overwhelming. Risky behavior is on the rise among homosexuals. I know th...

Wit's End: Growing Pains

http://wits-end1.blogspot.com/2011/06/growing-pains.html

Wednesday, June 8, 2011. You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You." Isaiah 26:3. With pregnancy also comes a bodily reaction of loose joints.I think I've gotten my full measure. Why I dropped my father-in-law's fishing pole into the lake. Why the olive oil jar shattered on the floor of the grocery store. Why my kitchen floor was splattered in yogurt. Why coffee granules went everywhere but in the filter (times 3). Why it is treacherous to eat without a bib.

Monday, June 13, 2011. I was unable to keep my eyes open any longer last night so I finished the last ten pages of That Hideous Strength. This morning before getting up. What a delicious book. I can't believe I waited to read the final book in the trilogy 6 years after the first two. In the meantime, I desire never to grow too old for these stories myself and to fill my bookshelf at toddler level with all of them. Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Thursday, January 6, 2011. Confessions of a Catastrophic Cook. When I have an inkling to make something it won't leave my head until I do. So this afternoon while working at the shop with John I began to wonder what to make for dinner. Home-made pizza like my mama makes immediately seized my brain and I simply knew I had to make that for dinner or John would have to go hungry because I didn't feel I could make anything else. I have never made pizza entirely by myself - that is one meal my mom has always.

Wit's End: April 2011

http://wits-end1.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 27, 2011. The following is a gist of how I answered my friend:. It's so funny that you asked about why I am pro-life because I've been thinking about it myself a lot lately. It surprises me in some ways that I am as passionate about it as I am because I have never had any personal experience with it nor did I know anyone who had had an abortion before I got involved. I believe that how one views the issue of life shapes their view on how they perceive everything else. When I saw how ...

ADOPTING ARIA

Monday, August 16, 2010. Moving Gracie's Updates to Family Blog. The time has come to move Gracie's updates to our family blog. I haven't been all that great at keeping this one updated. Life with two has slightly rocked my world this last year, especially in combination with our third adoption journey long underway. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. Gracie is the sweetest, most lovable baby on earth. I adore her. Thank you for all the support during our Ethiopian adoption and first year at home!

Thursday, June 18, 2015. T minus four weeks! Yes, we are still alive and. BUSY! In our defense, spring semester has always been the busiest time of the year for teachers so that was what kept us occupied! We both had a lot more on our plates and have been in this crazy nesting mode at home, too. Brian had to paint the nursery room and the guest room as well. New carpet installed in all three bedrooms upstairs. Everything in the nursery room is crisp and fresh! Here's a quick preview of our nursery room.
