peapod full of sweet peas

Thursday, October 6, 2011. Has it really been over a month? How in the world did this last month just fly by? Time is just going faster and faster. Once school started, we have been in the whirlwind of life. Every night is busy with some kind of practice or small group or activity and each week just disappears before I can get a blog post written and posted. The girls are also both attending school 2 days a week. It was a little change from our original plan but Tristen decided she too wanted to give...

peapod full of sweet peas: December 2010

http://adoptingsweetpea.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Adoption is a LOT to process both for the children, the birth family and the adoptive family. It was important for me to spend some time privately processing the different emotions and thoughts that have been running through my mind. There isn't a day that I don't thank God from the bottom of my heart for bringing ALL of our children into our home and family. I have seen perfectly how God knew that we would be the best ones to raise our children. We've had really good break th...

peapod full of sweet peas: And the BIG tree is finally gone

http://adoptingsweetpea.blogspot.com/2011/07/and-big-tree-is-finally-gone.html

Saturday, July 30, 2011. And the BIG tree is finally gone. Our beautiful big elm tree fell over in May. We woke up one day after a nasty night time storm and saw this amazing sight. I would have never guessed that tree would come down. Almost 100 feet tall and about 100 years old. Gone. Shockingly, it did not hit any one's. It was so sweet to see the kids work together as teams to get all the little stuff picked up. Look at that crew. So many people to help. Amazingly blessed by their hard work. We had s...

peapod full of sweet peas: September 2011

http://adoptingsweetpea.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Friday, September 2, 2011. I've been reminded lately that there are ebbs and flows of life. Sometimes are good and others, well.not so good. And why is it that when life is all peaches and cream, we just aren't as quick to be on our knees before the Father seeking all of our strength from Him each day? Maybe that is why God brings us those difficult times, to remind us to be ever so close to Him and cling to the truths in His word. I kind of think these few steps toward a deeper walk with God has put our...

peapod full of sweet peas: March 2011

http://adoptingsweetpea.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 19, 2011. A HEART for the NATIONS. I have always prayed that I would have a world view that follows God. And honestly, that was just ONE of the many reasons we pursued an international adoption. God loves His people. His children. His nations. We have been burdened and praying for JAPAN after the events of last weeks earthquake. Please watch and share. Wednesday, March 9, 2011. But this is a plea for those who are not part of the adoptive community, we need your prayers and signature too.

Saturday, October 9, 2010. Our 6th year of homeschooling. OKso seriously.I have become a VERY BAD BLOGGER. I have spent so much time focussing. On our new kids and new family dynamic, it is still at the bottom of the list. But I am trying.I will get back to it. But schooling 3-4 kiddos and all.it keeps me busy. Our curriculum (for the big kids) this year includes:. Spelling - Sequential Spelling. Handwriting - Handwriting Without Tears (focus on cursive again). Bible - Precepts for kids - Names of God.

Since the weather has been absolutely beautiful the past couple days, Landon, my mom and I went for a nice little stroll through the leaves today. Landon loved walking through the leaves and kicking them, I think he loved the way it sounded. Of course I had to snap a few pictures (62 to be exact, but who's counting! I love this time of year! Things happening in our world while following hard after Christ. 183; Posted by Amy. We have been waiting for a referral in the Ethiopia program for a long time now. During that time God has led us to adopt domestically. Watching God work to bring us a beautiful daughter has been amazing. It is funny how the waiting is so hard, and yet when His blessings come, we are blown away and humbled. He says, "Here. Receive.". What a great God we serve. The Life I Never Imagined

The Life I Never Imagined. There is no fear in love" 1 John 4:18. Sunday, March 19, 2017. I've struggled with guilt for much of my life. The things I didn't say but should have and the things I did say but shouldn't have - thinking and rethinking and trying to do things better moving forward. I've come to realize that having children has only amplified. If I could just keep myself together and not need personal space, I could give so much more. An Adoption Story

Wednesday, March 12, 2008. This is the story of our beautiful family. A story that I can't help but cry every time I reflect on it. Adoption wasn't just an option for us it was God's Best. Riley and I tried seven years to have children and never imagined this is the path that God would lead us down. We look at our journey sometimes and ask ourselves, “Why us? 8221; and then follow it up with “Why not us? 8221; There were times I cried out in such anger to God, "Can you not hear me?
