This is the best gift you can give your child, if this is something he/she wants. If you told him/her from an early age and they already know, chances are that you have some information abouth the biological parents already. The more you help your adoptive child, the more secure they will feel.

I was adopted at birth by wonderful parents with whom I grew up, but only at age 30 (married with children), I found out by chance that I was adopted and not my parents’ biological child. I had to figure out where I came from, then find myself again, and hopefully be emotionally parallel to where I was at the time of this incident and only then continue with my life. You are not currently logged in. If you have found out that you were adopted and you never knew, you will certainly have mixed feelings. This is totally natural. You will probably ask me how long this will take until you get used to the idea of being an adoptee? If you find your biological mother and she does not want to accept the contact, be patient.
