Monday, March 9, 2009. Nail guns, Sunburns and Mennonites. Here are some pictures from my week in Texas over spring break. I went down with a group from school and we worked with Mennonite Disaster Services and reshingled two house roofs and sided a house. It was perfect weather down there for working and we all got nice and tan! It was some good hard work and lots of fun. I didn't really know anyone else going down so that was cool. There were 9 of us that went down. Our professional shingling job.

A few days after we got back from our rock climbing course, we repacked and headed farther north to the backcountry of Whistler for an eight day mountaineering course. We had to pack food for eight days, along with crampons, ice axes, harnesses and helmets. Our packs weighed close to 50 pounds as we trekked across the mountains. The glaceirs are huge! Saturday, August 30, 2008. I am finally settled in my room for the semester. It is good not to have to live out of boxes anymore. They put me in a dorm room which wasn't what I was expecting but it will work. Its a very small room with lots of girls surrounding me so please pray that I'll get as much sleep as I need throughout the semester! Our next trip is September 11-15 where we're heading north along the coast for a sea kayaking trip. Amber and I on the coast. It was a great trip! Settled in at school.

Sunday, November 30, 2008. Best and Hardest Exam Ever! You may have heard pieces of this story already but here is the whole thing. Last weekend was our SAR (search and rescue) exam for OL and it was not like any other exam out there. It was real and fun and cold! I don't have many pictures just because there was not lots of chances to take pictures but it was for sure memorable. Friday, November 21, 2008. 1900: We completed the first aid senarios, it was snowing then! 2200: We found the two hikers!
