Adventures in My Freezer

Adventures in My Freezer. Once a month cooking for the real world and the two-person family. Friday, February 28, 2014. These cookies go by many names - unbaked, haystacks, frogs, s#it cookies. This recipe is "lactation" because of the addition of flax and brewer's yeast to the oatmeal base. These ingredients support a mom in making more milk - plus the cookies are delicious, fast, and easy to make. Boil syrup ingredients for 5 minutes or to a temperature of 230*F. 2 cups white sugar. 1/4 cup flax meal.

Adventures in My Freezer: September 2010

Adventures in My Freezer. Once a month cooking for the real world and the two-person family. Monday, September 6, 2010. Finally, another use for that thing you have to make protein shakes (or in our case, gravy and white sauce). I've been tempted by the Dr. Oetker version in the grocery store, but could never bring myself to spend $3 on a little tiny shaker of pancake batter. This recipe is from my grandma's Blue Ribbon Cook Book. 1 cup all purpose flour. 2 teaspoons baking powder. Links to this post.

A Natural Evolution: April 2009

http://anaturalevolution.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Becoming More Earth Conscious One Day at a Time. So I made my own cereal bars this weekend and they turned out awesome so I thought I'd share the recipe. They are just 2 weight watchers points (for those that are counting) the way the recipe is written but I could think of some yummy things I'd add if I didnt care so much about the points (i.e. chocolate chips, different dried fruits, coconut, etc). 1 c Rolled Oats. 3 1/2 c Kashi Go Lean Cereal. 1/2 c cream of wheat. 1/2 c oat bran. 1 tsp baking soda.

A Natural Evolution: Deodorant

http://anaturalevolution.blogspot.com/2011/02/deodorant.html

Becoming More Earth Conscious One Day at a Time. I have very sensitive skin and therefore I have to be careful as to what deodorants I choose so they do not irritate my skin and cause a rash. I used to use Dove deodorant for sensitive skin but when I began my search for a more natural product without aluminum it would either not work or it would end up giving me a rash. I used a Crystal. Here is the recipe. 1/4 cup Baking Soda. That's it. It is really simple, really cheap, and works really well. No one p...

Simple, but delicious.: I'm a slacker.

http://simplebutdelicious.blogspot.com/2009/01/im-slacker.html

Saturday, January 31, 2009. I know its been a while since my last post but I have a good excuse! We recently found out we are expecting a baby in August! So most of my time has been spent napping when I'm not at work. Gah, I love my bed. I promise as soon as I can stand to look at raw meat again, I'll be back with some new recipes. In the meantime, I have a few from the holidays that I haven't blogged about, so stayed tuned. I was also given a blog award by both uncanny from Adventures in my Freezer.

Don't many people splurge and treat themselves to pizza on the weekends? I am not one to be a conformist so I made our "pizza" dinner. Yes, that happens to be in quotes for a reason. It isn't really fair to say we ate pizza for dinner. We ate a variation of pizza. In soup form. And wouldn't you know it? I loved that my house smelled like pizza all day. My husband even commen...

At any rate, this recipe is called Cajun Chicken Pasta. I found it from the Pioneer Woman's website. I don't even remember what I was looking for on her site, but I stumbled across this. I never say "no" to a good pasta dinner, so I made this. I have never made a recipe from the Pioneer Woman before, but I plan on making more!

I hope you aren't disappointed, but this post is not about a dessert pie. Nope, this is a dinner pie. It's called a pie because essentially you are forming a crust in a pie plate using.wait for it.spaghetti. Or in my case, angel hair. For my son’s “bestie”  (best friend) birthday, I created him a Dinosaur birthday card using Paper Doll Dress Up.  I really like the dinosaurs on the cartridge, but never knew how to use them.  I figured the wording “dino-mite” called for the use of a dinosaur, so when I realized I could use that wording for the sentiment, I ran with it! It’s like a different type of embellishment that is CHEAP! My hu...

Adventures in my Living Room

Adventures in my Living Room. I like baking and books and tea. Friday, 29 July 2011. I can hardly believe that only one week ago school broke up for the summer. In the last week I have organised, vastly enjoyed and tried to assist with the fallout of one of my dearest friend's hen nights. This involved zorbing, vast amounts of 'ribena' and a tea party fit for a beautiful bride before descending into a night of many, many shots of hard liquor, somewhat blue comedy and the famous superhero, Mr Muscle.
