Tuesday, March 10, 2009. Snow in March. trip cancellation. I was scheduled to travel to Haiti on March 9, 2009. It appears that it was not meant to be. A four hour March snowstorm in Bellingham caused us to miss our connections in Seattle and Miami. After being on the phone and internet for at least 1 1/2 hours it was determined that it was best to completely cancel this trip and try again later. Wednesday, May 27, 2009. While yesterday was one of great joy and encouragement as I saw the benefits of our feeding programs in three schools, today was quite different. I visited a school that is in need of a feeding program. When we arrived the headmaster was telling me about twin boys who represent 95% of his students that come to school hungry every day.
