Adventures of The Cane Girl: March 2015

http://adventuresofthecanegirl.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Adventures of The Cane Girl. Learning to cook one recipe at a time. Tuesday, 31 March 2015. When I was a kid, my Dad would cook every now and then.  You should know that Im not the biggest fan of pork chops, but pork chops in mushroom sauce (icky - but I still liked it! The horror.) was his speciality.  And he would ALWAYS serve it with Rice-A-Roni. . Im sure its chock full of sodium and scary preservatives, but I freaking love that stuff.  Like. LOVE. 160; How could it NOT be delicious! I mean.&#160...

Adventures of The Cane Girl: May 2015

http://adventuresofthecanegirl.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Adventures of The Cane Girl. Learning to cook one recipe at a time. Thursday, 14 May 2015. Its May long weekend! 160; Im so excited. For most, May long weekend truly kicks off the summer season.  And why wouldnt it? 160; If you dont live here in Northern Alberta that is.  Or anywhere in Alberta.  Or Canada.  Because it could very well snow! But the forecast looks halfway decent and should involve a BBQ and a backyard fire in the pit I only tripped over all last summer. And drool you will. 160; Sooooo good.

Adventures of The Cane Girl: September 2016

http://adventuresofthecanegirl.blogspot.com/2016_09_01_archive.html

Adventures of The Cane Girl. Learning to cook one recipe at a time. Friday, 23 September 2016. Lets talk about galettes. Galettes are basically just a fancy name for a pie that is ugly.  Except these galettes are SO PRETTY. Straightforward ingredients.  Sugar, flour, salt, butter, water. In a large bowl, combine the flour,. With the salt and sugar. Then, using a fork or a fancy schmancy pastry cutter if you have one, cut the butter into the flour until it is about the size of peas. On to the filling.

Adventures of The Cane Girl: April 2015

http://adventuresofthecanegirl.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Adventures of The Cane Girl. Learning to cook one recipe at a time. Saturday, 25 April 2015. Were talking about The Bread. Im not going to lie to you.  The Bread is not for the faint of heart.  Or the faint of waistline.  I dont encourage you to have this on a regular basis and most DEFINITELY dont eat it by yourself. There are two ingredients. Then take your very, very soft butter and spread it on the bread, making sure you get all the way to the edges and the layer of butter is pretty level and even.

Adventures of The Cane Girl: August 2015

http://adventuresofthecanegirl.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Adventures of The Cane Girl. Learning to cook one recipe at a time. Wednesday, 19 August 2015. Thats what its called. I made these burgers for Fathers Day (for my brother), because I was trying to be cheeky. I feel like I was fairly successful.  Also, they were AWESOME. Have you ever had a fried egg on a burger? 160; Its like cutting a slab of butter and putting on the burger and calling it a day.  Except you can pretend its healthy because - eggs. Oh glorious day.. Like so.. The timing is a little tri...

Lobster Mac. | How Sweet It Is

https://howsweet.wordpress.com/2009/09/20/lobster-mac

How Sweet It Is. Laquo; Happy Birthday…. September 20, 2009 by Jessica. Most favorite dish EVER. We love, love, love this. I know some say cheese and seafood don’t mesh, but this certainly does. We first had this dish at The Capitol Grille and I wanted to take the chef home with me. So, so, so, so amazing. This is by no means a healthy dish. In fact, this is probably one of the worst dishes you can eat. In moderation? Sure it may be fine, but when you wake up and eat it for breakfast? You have just spent...

Adventures of the Called

Adventures of the Called. Reflections of a first call pastor. Wednesday, December 11, 2013. What is a Smorgasbord Anyway? And Why Do Some Churches Have Them? Last week my parents' congregation hosted their annual Swedish Smorgasbord, an event I have never entirely understood. I didn't completely grow up in that congregation, we moved there when I was in 8th grade, so this is not a tradition I have from young childhood. Was an unknown word, lutefisk. Well some people really enjoy them, especially immigran...

Adventures of The Cane Girl. Learning to cook one recipe at a time. Saturday, 10 December 2016. Chicken and Gnocchi Soup. In addition to the other multitude of foods that I love, soup is high up on the list. But Im specific about the soup that I like.  I like creamy, thick, stick-to-your-ribs soup.  Cream of chicken, cream of asparagus, cream of tomato, etc. etc. Which is what happened with this soup the first time I tried it. And it was.  As waste of my time.  Something about the ingre...160; I feel lik...

Adventures of the Christodoulous

Adventures of the Christodoulous. Sunday, 8 April 2012. Goodbye and thank you New Zealand! We’ve traversed this country, and yet still there is so much more to see. Thank you NZ, you’ve been really special. But a little back tracking to catch up on what we’ve been up to…. Life’ pleasures are actually pretty simple. Don’t get me wrong, I have loved pirate, but to get up and walk outside to the loo in the middle of the night gets old pretty quickly! We may be back in NZ before we know it. Thanks for keepin...
