Internet Vet. - The Owls Approve
http://www.theowlsapprove.com/2015/08/internet-vet.html
While I still cringe every time I see some stupid what-do-I-do post on OTTB Connect, I still want as much knowledge as possible. Fortunately, the best response for those people is the same response I've given myself and my vet is due out Friday. Until then, though, I've been joyfully googling myself into a tizzy. Because my raison d'etre lately seems to be insanity. And I'm worried that Archie has developed either Recurrent Airway Obstruction. Or Summer Pasture-Associated Recurrent Airway Obstruction.

Stupid Texas Dirt

A weenie adult rider and her lug of a horse poorly riding through life. June 19, 2015. So it’s definitely hell getting old(er). Pushes into middle age. First, he’s decided that the Texas soil does not agree with him. Then, it finally stopped raining. And the ground that was recently flooded started turning into cement and cracking WITHIN A WEEK. WTF, TEXAS. YOU MAKE-A NO SENSE-A. Yeah Thanks, Texas. And, per usual, he was a big dog with the farrier. OH MY GOD, OLLIE, MOVE. Laziness. She said that giv...

Tack - Product Reviews. Rolex Results and Statistics. Friday, August 14, 2015. When life gets crazy - update from our neck of the woods. I then had to go home and prep for horse summer camp this week. My time off work is used to do more work! But really, I love it and it helps me pay off the large vet bills my accident-prone horse can't resist. Tillie enjoying the attention from summer camp students. Her previous farrier had her toes long and break over in the wrong spot. Tillie all tucked in. Well i get...

The Semi Feral Equestrian: Streptococcus Equi ssp equi
http://semiferalrider.blogspot.com/2013/12/streptococcus-equi-ssp-equi.html
Life of a semi feral equestrian attempting to learn dressage with her Arabians. Humor, science, and doing things in a roundabout way. Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Streptococcus Equi ssp equi. Streptococci. Sounds like an impressive word. Most people recognize it by it's layman term of the disease of which it is associated in equines: strangles. But what about it? Many of us have seen horses with strangles and know the ideas behind quarantining new horses, bastard strangles, the debate on the vaccines.

Stampy and the Brain. Adventures with my two favorite horses. Stampy and the Brain. August 4, 2015. I haven’t done much of an update on the boys lately so here is a quick one! Mr P needs a modeling career. So firstly I may have gone on a bit of a saddle binge…. CWD Relatively Stable = 3. So yeah, above is another CWD…same stats as the one for Stampede but used and the seat is an 18″ versus a 17.5″. I traded in the Antares plus a little money for it and it was a great decision! P loves his Aunt Jessica!

Thursday, April 30, 2015. It was so quiet at the barn tonight. I left the office at 4 and was on Ellie by 5:15. The last of the juniors was wrapping up and I warmed Ellie up a bit in the meantime. We jumped- but rather than focusing there I had some amazing flatwork out of her- collected, balanced, energy- she felt awesome! And hot. After a long week it was time to have a little fun! Wilbur, Ellie, and Emily. Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Wilbur, Ellie, and Emily. Monday, April 27, 2015. Oh- and overnight f...

Wilbur, Ellie, & Emily: Herd Bound
http://www.wilburisagem.com/2015/08/herd-bound.html
Sunday, August 2, 2015. The pasture kids were moments away from breakfast this morning when I pulled up the drive. My eye caught Wilbur playfully kicking and nipping his friends up on their little hill and resisted the urge to shout "stop, stop" out my open window. Like please, do not trip and fall down this hill. Now I just spray him with Alushield and call it a day. Wilbur, Ellie, and Emily. Labels: around the barn. Lauren @ She Moved to Texas. TBT: A Horse Named Tiki – Back In The Tack
https://backinthetack.wordpress.com/2015/04/23/tbt-a-horse-named-tiki
Back In The Tack. TBT: A Horse Named Tiki. April 23, 2015. Around 2006, I was boarding my first horse, Morkie, at a barn in middle Tennessee. The barn owned bought several horses from a kill auction that summer and I fell in love with a gelding whose name had been Garfield. He was unbearably skinny and unbearably sweet. I was in love and I called him Tiki. The day I met him. Tiki a couple years down the line. Of unknown breeding, Tiki wasn’t much to look at but I was as proud of him as any young te...
