Taco Punch and other random tales of Mommyness: Mohawks and Mustaches
http://girlkindofshawn.blogspot.com/2008/09/mohawks-and-mustaches.html
Monday, September 1, 2008. This is my 14 year-old. And, yes, that's a mohawk he's sporting. I thought I'd better get photographic proof of it before he shaved it off. With 14 year-olds, you never know what tomorrow brings. I'd like to wax his eyebrows but, he won't let me. He's no fun. But, I don't blame him. Once, when I was getting my eyebrows waxed, my sister-in-law (who is also my stylist) asked if I wanted my mustache waxed. Get it off me! Get it off me! The Girl Kind of Shawn. There's a muppet wiki!

The Parked Blue Van: No, I don't have...
http://parkedbluevan.blogspot.com/2008/08/no-i-dont-have.html
Thursday, August 7, 2008. No, I don't have. A blue van parked in my yard. After half-dozen of proposed aliases were rejected by Blogspot as already taken, in frustration I growled, "Probably something as offbeat as, say, 'The Parked Blue Van' is already taken, too." Lo and behold, much to my surprise, it wasn't. Well, that's as good a name as any, let's go with it and get this blog up and running! Andy Egizi, Program Coordinator. August 8, 2008 at 7:02 AM. The Parked Blue Van: January 2009
http://parkedbluevan.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 1, 2009. Gearing up for another semester. Another semester beckons, and is fast approaching! Under Will's direction, the Critical Thinking class took on a new dimension this fall. We applied the critical thinking skills we were learning to the recent presidential election debates through posts on our discussion board. It was surprising the extent to which we picked out the hyperbole and fallacies of the campaigns' rhetoric even after only a few weeks into the course. Links to this post.

Wednesday, February 11, 2009. More on Morning People. Since Blackbird has led off on a rant about Morning People, ( http:/ black-bird-sings.blogspot.com/2009/01/morning-people.html. All joking and ribbing of Morning People aside, though, just recently there was an interesting article by Robert Boyd of McClatchy Newspapers you can read on Yahoo News at http:/ news.yahoo.com/s/mcclatchy/20090205/sc mcclatchy/3161423/print. Taco Punch and other random tales of Mommyness: December 2008
http://girlkindofshawn.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 20, 2008. This semester is done! I just e-mailed my last assignment. My husband left home for Iraq at the end of October. He's should be home in November of 2009. My son is doing better than he has ever done with school. And Iwas worried he would drown in high school. Guess he showed me! The backyard is holding up. I got some grass seed down before the first frost. Spring will be interesting. The Girl Kind of Shawn. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). UIS Liberal Studies Blog Community.

Taco Punch and other random tales of Mommyness: Homecoming!!
http://girlkindofshawn.blogspot.com/2008/10/homecoming.html
Friday, October 10, 2008. So, I'm sittin' here trying my best to finish up my large mini M&M Blast from Sonic and it's just not going down. Tomorrow is my son's first school dance and I am about to pee myself with excitement. Was that TMI? Sorry But really, though! His first Homecoming. Eeeee! Is it that he's going on his first "date" that has my stomach in a bunch? So, I threw in how his date will be the envy of all the other girls when they see what a gentleman he is. He thinks I'm an idiot. :). I didn...

I feel terrible that I didn't get back here sooner! The news did a follow up and after watching myself, I have come to the conclusion that I am an idiot on camera. :).
