Thursday, December 9. I am one of a small number of people to have first discovered Frank McCourt via his memoir Teacher Man. I finally read McCourt's best-known work, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Angela's Ashes. I was expecting it to be magnificent, since that's all I've ever been told about it. And, it is. Tuesday, December 7. If I Didn't Like Stories. So Read stories. Especially by Madeleine L'Engle. And imagine her up in heaven, where I'm convinced she is the proud owner of her very own unicorn.

Saturday, August 28. The God of Small Things. Arundhati Roy. This was a re-read, and I posted about it the first time I read it in early 2008. I wanted to read it again because I was so captivated by the language. I wasn't disappointed this time around, either; Roy's ability to put together a beautiful sentence is stunning. The story is still sad and not redemptive enough for it to be a favorite, but because this book is like reading one long poem, it was worth a second look. Hinds' Feet on High Places.

i'm just saying....: September 2009
http://lizbrashear.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Well, this little recap is overdue, but forgive me for being a bit behind after having witnessed in person the sad, second loss in a row by my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the loss, attending the game was really one of the best experiences I've ever had! And it was fun being there with my Dad and siblings, despite the fact that my brother wore a repulsive Bengals' shirt. There is nothing like watching a game that close-so exciting! Thanks to the Dog Whisperer aka Steve.

Blessed are those whose strength is in You, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage." Psalm 84:5. Tuesday, March 12, 2013. We say 'Thank God' for things. We don't know the. Thank God they rushed to the hospital. Thank God the train didn't come. And he was late. Thank God she wrote that recommendation. Thank God I cried tonight. Even though I don't. Thank God for the days getting longer. Thank God for His hand. And righteousness laid out. Thank God it feels. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

My Infinite Reading Entry: May 2011
http://lostinreading.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html
My Infinite Reading Entry. I hope this blog is infinite just like my love for reading. Even more so, my love for writing about my reading. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Who Are You To Cry? I think a lot about the little things that change us. The moments that we lose our innocence and the times that we realize everything in life isn't perfect. For some reason I keep returning to the concept of crying, and I'm starting to believe that it is the one thing that really signals our growing up. And why was she crying?
