A great WordPress.com site. All posts for the month November, 2013. Tacking the Frame 4. On November 17, 2013. Finally I tacked the last bar onto the frame. This connected the turning pipe to the ‘U’ bend and base of the chassis. again this was tricky so I tacked on the pipe and moved it slightly to make it as straight as possible. overall I was happy with the way the chassis came together. I wanted to make an exhaust for my bike. I decided to make a bracket that would hold the engine in place while bolting it onto the chassis. December 4, 2013. The part I am most happy with about my bike is the Tank/ seat. To match the covering I initially planned to pant the tank a gloss black colour but seeing some of the other tanks in the product design lab I thought a mist of purple paint would look really nice. December 4, 2013. Covering with the rash vest. The frame was completed and it was time to cover it with the rash vest material. For the front part of the bike I found the back central section of the rash vest actually fitted the frame perfectly and only had to be sown along the existing seam which was a bonus. The back section posed a bit more trou ble but the front central section plus a small bit of the arm section covered it nicely and it all turned out very well. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

It was important to get the back axle aligned straight so to do this I welded on one of the mounts first then stuck a welding rod through it and the second mound. December 4, 2013. I have finished the bike now and I must say I am very happy with how it turned out. The rash vest covering turned out brilliantly but I am most happy with the tank. If I was to change some things I would remake the handle bars so that the bar wouldn’t kink to do this I would use the hydraulic pipe benders as it would get a smoother bend. I would also choose a different colour paint for the handlebars as I feel the grey doesn’t really suit the black rash vest. December 4, 2013 at 10:11 pm.
