Alaska Bound Homesteader!

A homesteader is bound and determined to move from the Lower 48 to her dream of an Alaskan homestead! Sunday, January 17, 2010. Peering Off the Beaten Path and Understanding Why There are Unfilled Jobs. I LOVE trees. And, trees - forests - have always been a part of my Alaskan dream. Alaska Bound Homesteader!: Alaska Dreaming

http://alaskaboundhomesteader.blogspot.com/2010/01/alaska-dreaming.html

A homesteader is bound and determined to move from the Lower 48 to her dream of an Alaskan homestead! Saturday, January 9, 2010. The dream began when I was quite young. I read a book by Jack London, White Fang. And I was smitten by Alaska. I read more Jack London, including Call of the Wild. And I was more smitten. I read other books about mushing, and Alaska, and the history of the Gold Rush. And I dreamed. The Call of the Wild and White Fang (Unabridged Classics). I grew up. I fell in love. I g...From ...

A homesteader is bound and determined to move from the Lower 48 to her dream of an Alaskan homestead! Tuesday, January 12, 2010. When You Are Not Independently Wealthy, Nor Retired . Applications have gone out. And, they will continue to go out until one of us gets a suitable job offer. We are both talented and experienced people, and so it is my hope, my prayer, and my belief that we will eventually find a wonderful job for one or both of us that will allow us to pursue this dream. As we research jobs, ...

Argonaut's Weblog | Going South to Alaska… or taking the long way

Going South to Alaska… or taking the long way. May 12, 2008. Well, we’re in Fairbanks! Safe and sound. We have limited cell phone use. We’ll be spending the day looking for a place to live. So the adventure continues! May 12, 2008. We woke up in time to make it to Haines Junction for breakfast at a bakery we found advertised. Mexican pot pie for breakfast very filling! May 12, 2008. We made our way into the Yukon Territory. The remoteness and vastness was breathtaking! Finally, The Alcan! May 12, 2008.

Alaska Bound 2012

Friday, January 7, 2011. Saw on a post by one of the teachers with ITC a reference to a program called Blabberize. I think it is something we can do to enhance our teaching unit for the primary kids. Will have to see if any of 4th period has knowledge of it and can teach us to use it. I think every new gadget these days should come equipped with a teenager to guide you in getting started. Gotta gear up for the day - FRIDAY! Tuesday, December 21, 2010. On rereading my post I see that I have gone from Teac...

Alaska Bound Docs

Saturday, July 31, 2010. So, there have been several things going on. Time to catch up on some blogging! There are so many dogs. There is a culture of greetings. most dogs will nicely greet each other and if possible will start a small pack. especially on the beach. It's really nice to see really big dogs and really little ones hanging out together. Occasionally there is aggression, but this is really frowned upon. Also, it's not nice to let your dog go up to a human unless invited. Sunday, July 25, 2010.

Well, our adventure is almost to an end.We have toured the Redwoods and have also had a great time in the Napa/Sonoma wine valley and San Francisco. We were able to see some great wineries and the beautiful vineyards. I got a chance to experience the breadth of these giant trees. We spent an afternoon touring the Benziger winery. Took a tram through the vineyards.
