The importance of the pause; this has been written about many times, I choose to write about it again because we (meaning me, the people around me and my society) still don’t get it. There’s still such praise for the workaholic or the busy person who never sits down. When did we decide that this was a good thing? The continual busyness and constant chatter in your head can make life feel like you’re riding a hamster wheel! Is your breathing free or tight?

One of the most common complaints I hear is sitting at my desk for any length of time hurts my:-. Are you conscious of what you are doing or are you ‘disconnected’ from your body? How free does your ribcage feel? Are you breathing easily or periodically holding your breath? Is your neck full of tension? Can you let it soften a bit?

June 30, 2014. 8212; by bodymindfulness @ 12:29. A long long time ago I studied the magnificent art of Tai Chi Chuan, it’s truly beautiful and I highly recommend it. My practice incorporated Qigong and meditation and once or twice a year I would head off to a beautiful old abbey in Oxford for a weekend retreat. Full of wonderful likeminded people and fabulous vegetarian food I loved it! In more recent years I have visited an Ashram in India (don’t be impressed I only lasted two days the food was not good!

Making freedom in movement a way of life. One to one lessons. The teacher will usually use a chair and therapy table, as well as looking at walking and lifting. If applicable (and practical) the client may want to bring their musical instrument to the lesson in order to look at their use when they play it. Who is it for? One-one lessons cost 40 and take approximately 35 minutes. Because you are learning a skill it is important in the beginning to come regularly; weekly is ideal. Lessons in your home.
