Learning to patchwork – a little at a time. A Lovely Little Patchwork Heart Coaster. April 6, 2016. April 6, 2016. One of my favourite bloggers, Kerri Horsley. Has just published an amazing new book – Lovely Little Patchwork (available on Amazon and Book Depository). Kerri, knowing what a fan I was of her sweet style, was kind enough to send me a copy of the book. And let me tell you, it is a brilliant! A Little Patchwork Basket. April 6, 2016. Was recently searching for a simple (and free) pattern to ma...

Learning to patchwork – a little at a time. Pixie Noel Blog Hop. July 26, 2016. Welcome to my turn on the Pixie Noel Blog Hop. Pixie Noel is Tasha Noel’s. Latest collection for Riley Blake. And I am truly smitten. Like many people I am a huge fan of Tasha’s designs, with all of her previous collections being a big part of our handmade home – from nursery bunting and curtains, first birthday dresses and now our Christmas. I used Lisa from A Spoonful Of Sugar free tutorial for a hexie pillowcase. By Belle ...

Learning to patchwork – a little at a time. Strawberry Biscuit Blog Hop. April 27, 2016. April 27, 2016. Contacted me and asked if I wanted to join the Strawberry Biscuit. Blog hop I was so excited (and fairly nervous). This collection was a firm favourite the moment I saw it on her Instagram feed. I knew that with such pretty and cheery fabric I wanted to make. I couldn’t find an art case pattern so instead I came up with a simple design that I then embellished with fabric stamps, hexies and a fussy cut...

Sleepy Primitive quilt success (ish) – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/05/05/sleepy-primitive-quilt-success-ish
Sleepy Primitive quilt success (ish). May 5, 2015. May 5, 2015. To be fair this photo is of some cows with calves so they are innocent of the charge of noise nuisance although the new bull Rusty is amongst them and he definitely was guilty as charged. Anyway today i am very droopy. So very little sewing so far. But i have been making progress in the evenings with my primitive quilt pattern from Jeni from the Willow. My goals for May. Anyway that counts as 7 in my book! Is on hold ready to take with me wh...

July 30, 2015. July 30, 2015. It’s probably qualifies as a new did group! It’s really due to be replaced as it was only bought as a temporary measure by the lady who rented here before we moved in. … and we’ve been here 10 years now too… but there is no point replacing it until the boys are a bit older and there is less debris. Anyway I’m feeling much happier now it’s cleaner. And no, there is no chance a baby will appear this time… but its a great excuse. And now time for a cup of tea🙂. You are comment...

If at first you don’t succeed – cheat – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/05/04/if-at-first-you-dont-succeed-cheat
If at first you don’t succeed cheat. May 4, 2015. I had an excellent idea…. I have always admired Project Linus. My first attempt: This was cutting the correct shapes and then sewing them together… except my brain could NOT cope with the triangles! It took 3 attempts to manage to cut a pair right! Following that i then struggled to cut the sky on the same angle and the first time i tried i didn’t have enough fabric in the right place! So i left it for a couple of weeks. And i added it to my May goals.

I’m not counting! – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/06/07/im-not-counting
I’m not counting! June 7, 2015. Anyway it was bliss – I always go a little haywire with all the lovely tempting fabric around. This year I went with a shopping list of two things. Secondly I was looking for Christmas fabrics. I wish to make a Christmas table topper and I haven’t previously been interested in Christmas fabrics so this is to start my stash in this direction. On the other hand I’m still considering my design options! I’m thinking that a tree design in applique would be good🙂. Enter your em...

Time flies – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/06/26/time-flies
June 26, 2015. Phew i don’t know where the time has gone. Life just plods on as usual nothing particularly exciting to report. Just the usual work/home routine. I’ve done some sewing in the evenings, but not as much as before mainly because my eldest has been refusing to go to bed on time so there is usually an hour of battle with him and then it’s about my bedtime! I have now made 10 large blocks. 8230;and 22 small haystack blocks. I’m not counting! Hot hot hot and sad. 4 thoughts on “ Time flies. Thank...

School holidays – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/08/14/school-holidays
August 14, 2015. We are still in the midst of school holidays here. And today is the last morning of the lads going to the childminder as she is on holiday for the next 3 weeks too. So chaos is about to reign here. I’m doing less and less sewing as the boys are needing so much entertainment. Roll on 3 weeks time when the school reopens. Secondly I’m crocheting some 12″ granny squares which are very helpful for doing whilst sitting and waiting for my eldest to finish his swimming lesson. Long Time No Blog!

https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/05/31/may-month-round-up
May 31, 2015. Gosh what a month. We had three weeks of Chicken Pox! First my eldest got it, then after 10 days the youngest came down with it too. So i’ve spent the month trying to cover childcare for poorly kids as i needed to be at work. Having said that i’ve still been busy sewing as its my way to relax on an evening… and i’ve needed it more than ever this month! I set myself some targets. Charity quilt blocks x3. Stonefields BOM part 2. Erm…. i think my total was actually 8 blocks, but i ha...I must ...

August 2015 – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/08
August 25, 2015. My youngest is now toddling. Nothing is safe here. . he seams to be able to access all areas. His newest trick is copying his older brother and climbing across the furniture. He’s only just turned one and is mountaineering over the sofa and chair already! So my relaxing time is almost exclusively crochet at the moment. This is because its easy to pick up with no needing to prepare stuff and also it’s a tad safer for toddlers as there are no sharp pins and needles kicking about . I think ...

A Little Path
A way to pass before reaching the highway. Kata orang-orang, umur kedewasaan itu 17 tahun. Dimana kita udah diakui sama negara. Pendewasaan ...

We all just NEED a little Paz
We all just NEED a little Paz. Hidden Resentments poison a relationship; so if something bothers you, say it! Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections. Unknown. Wednesday, August 12, 2015. True a trip of a lifetime. The rose, the cheese, the cute little french people with baguettes. Awe I could go on and on. Oh but then I got home to A NIGHTMARE! Thank goodness for good friends, and being the same size! Friday, February 13, 2015.
