Eclectic posts of clay and fiber art with a touch of wild life and vegan cuisine. Friday, October 24, 2014. The Queen in South Florida. One could say "isn't the Queen the Monarch? I hadn't even considered the similarity in the names of the Monarch and the Queen until just now as I started to write this post. I suppose their royal-like presence is what inspired their names. (hmm something to research). Links to this post. Wednesday, October 8, 2014. Piping Plovers make their nests in the sand just above t...

Sunday, August 24, 2014. A ton of colour. Well, Ladies, what a wonderful colourful challenge! I was blown away by all of your pieces. As I told you in my email, I was unable to complete my challenge. My mysterious illness still continues and at present the doctors have no idea what is the matter. I am slowly improving, but the underlying problem is still present and returns now and then. I thought you might like to see where I was going with my piece before my setback. You saw a bit of my map -. I kept p...

Tangled Textiles: October 2014
http://tangledtextiles.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 19, 2014. Okay, so today was the day I started the design phase for our process challenge. Having set my parameters as a wholecloth mini quilt, with a mandala and colour, I needed to come up with a plan. To start, I took a plain piece of paper and marked a 16" square on it, and then quartered it horizontally, vertically and diagonally. Next, using an idea I got from Lisa Calle. Monday, January 26, 2015. A Final Challenge - COURAGE. For us, our challenge this time is not one that is easily portrayed but is a challenge never the less. Since our group began in 2011 under the mentorship of Diane Perin Hock. One of the Twelves. Was not with us for long, these were her offerings. Such a wonderful compilation of creativity and artistry. So the next challenge? It's always sad to see things end, however. It's also a happy time. We have formed friendships that have encouraged, suppor...

Friday, January 30, 2015. Regarding Snow and some drawings. Not sure where I am going with these, for some reason they appeal to me at the moment. Maybe I have been looking at too many architectural details or too many Greek vases. I am not deliberately copying anything but I wouldn't be surprised to find they remind my viewers of something specific. I think that after Monday I will be just as happy if it decides to stop snowing for the rest of the winter, though it doesn't seem likely. For the recor...
