I found the hike up easy. the hardest part was route finding around the bluff section to the upper ridge. Awesome views from the Summit of Mt. Burman. This is my favorite hiking spot on the northern end of Nanaimo/Lantzville Area. it has several view points over looking the back valley behind Benson to Arrowsmith. it also has some great views of Nanaimo, Winchaelsea Island both end of Nanoose, Harbour, Rathtrevor Beach, Parksville, and beyond! I am Sorry to say that a 1/3 of the trails has been logging and destroyed. I will be marking the area logged on the map/s so if you still like to do the loop you can. Sywash Ridge is: 556m.

My favorite way to do a Hike from Witchcraft lake is to hike straight up to the summit, then take the northern ridge trails back to the fire-road. on lower section of the mountain I like to hike down the 3rd trail, then back long the side of the lake to road back to my bike. With some good views. of the area. It didnt think it was to strenuous of a hike. a steep start or finish on either end of the ridge after the the kind of steep start, it was ok. Bring your Water, not much drinkable water on the ridge. any water you do use off the ridge, boil.
