This is the image I choose when told I had to find a self-portrait to mimic, - not exactly typical, but I like it. Degas is probably my favourite artist of all time; I love his colours and the way he captures things you wouldn't normally be drawn to. So based on this image, I photographed myself in a similar situation and used the palette to create my own self portrait. This is an old assignment. the idea was to take two pictures (I used more) and make them one, add a shape, and add text on a path. I used the background eraser a lot to take away the sky one each image (later I added a solid black layer to replace it all). This time it's extraction. I finally got a chance to use a volleyball picture! I used two pictures for this image: one in black and white as a background, and the other in colour is the extraction. It's not too complicated. Monday, September 24, 2007. This is the final piece! Labels: Great is Gods Faithfulness. Thursday, September 20, 2007. This was my original idea, but I wasn't sure whether it was too simple so in my next drafts I tried to ground the piece a bit more. I tried to introduce text to the piece. I chose the words "thy hand hath provided" rather than "great is thy faithfulness," because I felt that it is more 'subtly effective.' I'm not yet sure of the placement. I don't know if it is too distracting.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: gained 25 pounds. Maternity Clothes: I finally went shopping and I was pleasantly surprised at the pants at Motherhood Maternity in Cerritos Mall. I found three pairs! Also, I made sure to buy shirts that I can wear after I have the baby, too. Gender: It's a boy! What I miss: DIET COKE!
