Festival Of Fins, New Orleans, Louisiana

From May through September of 2000, the Young Leadership Council, in partnership with the Arts Council of New Orleans' public art program, held the Festival of Fins, the largest public art display in the city s history. More than 150 artists designed and painted over 200 fiberglass fish appeared throughout the New Orleans Metro area. In November of 2000, 105 fish were publicly auctioned raising over $550,000 for New Orleans area non-profit organizations.

Butterscotch is my albino Burmese Python. He is a really beautiful snake, named for the coloring of his skin. I've had him (thanks to the generosity of some very good friends) since January of 1995. This picture, taken in the summer of 1996, shows Butterscotch at 7'3". This picture of Butterscotch with my friend's daugter Maryanne was taken in March of 2000. He is at a length of 9', which he has maintained for the past year. This is a rather nice page dedicated to snakes. Ball Pythons and More.

Amberle, (for those of you who may not know), comes from the Shannara fantasy/sci-fi series of books by Terry Brooks; Elfstones of Shannara to be more specific. It is a series I highly recommend reading. I chose Amberle as my handle on the first BBS (Bulletin Board System) I joined in September of 1992. The name has stuck ever since. A Little Personal Info About Me. In short, I came down for Mardi Gras. In October of 1998, Craig and I made it official and tied the knot. We couldn't be happier.

When I accepted an invitation from a friend to travel down to New Orleans for Mardi Gras 1995, I had no idea what to expect. It ended up being one of the best vacations of my life. My sister asked me to bring her back some beads. Where do I get beads? I naively asked my friend. They throw them at you! She replied. A Better Parade Night Uptown. Feb 21st, 2009 at 9:08 AM. Better parade night Uptown last night. Friends staked out across from St Stephen’s School, a block up from Magazine. The crowd filled in a bit around parade time, but certainly not the sardine packed situation that happened on Thursday. You men gave us a great show. A good part of the fun is just the recognition. I was sad to hear this morning, of the shooting on the route in the Garden District. Guns have no place at a parade. View my Tags page.

Feb 25th, 2009 at 8:07 AM. I am definitely investing in goggles for my next ride. Riding Orpheus Monday near Milan and St Charles I was struck in the eye by a throwback bead(s). I saw (from my good eye) the early teen brat who threw them (and was laughing), but of course the float was moving and no cop in sight. Saturday, March 01, 2008. Busy busy busy that's the name of the game in my household. We really don't get out and do that much but yet our days seem so busy! This past week has been just the usual. Work, home, work, home! We had such nice weather the whole week but I never managed to find the time to take the kids to the park so now it is the weekend and I had plans to take them to the park and then it started snowing!
