In early June I was honoured to be asked to participate in a group show at p m Gallery in west end Toronto. Lindsay Allison, a new curator there, put together a great show featuring 5 artists. The opening is Saturday July 20th from 5-8 pm at PM Gallery, 1518 Dundas St. West (just past Dufferin).

Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures. Nature contains the elements, in color and form, of all pictures, as the keyboard contains the notes of all music. But the artist is born to pick, to choose, and group … these elements, that the result may be beautiful. Painting is just another way of keeping a diary. Ana Gribbons is a Polish-Canadian immigrant, born in Argentina. She grew up in Hamilton, Ontario and now lives in the Toronto area.

The year began beautifully with a big solo exhibit of my waterscapes at Sunderland Hall, First Unitarian Congregation Toronto, from Feb. 2 – 21. The many paintings of ponds, rivers and lakes projected an even greater sense of serenity and peace to the environment. The event was a kind of retrospective, with a mix of recent and new paintings. The opening reception was well attended with people graciously saying that they very much enjoyed the paintings and could relate to them in a deeper way.

I'm a hazard to myself. Do not give me the drugs. Today I had the indoctrination into old age. Yes, I had to have a colonoscopy. I am really not that old but as my father died of colon cancer in his early 50’s, so my doctor wanted me to start being screened early. The procedures are basically done in an assembly line at the hospital under a general anaesthetic.
