Andrea Ann

Wednesday, April 16, 2008. The first thing I did when I started my portrait was obviously look for a portrait. I searched Google, and came across a beautiful portrait by Alexandra Nedzvetchkaya. It is called “Portrait of a Woman” and as soon as I saw it, I knew I was going to use it. I loved all the soft colours and the lighting, it was gorgeous. After the hands, came the shirt. I turned the opacity down, picked a brush and lightly painted over top of the picture. After this it was all just touching up a...

Andrea Ann: Spring Cleaning

http://www.andreas-art-blog.blogspot.com/2008/03/spring-cleaning.html

Monday, March 3, 2008. In this art assignment, we had to take an old, damaged photograph and restore it using Photoshop. The picture on the left side is the original of my great grandparents. The one on the right side is the restored version of it. If you look closely at the original, you can see scratches and bend marks. The new one does not have that, and the colour is a lot better too. Andrea Ann: Layering

http://www.andreas-art-blog.blogspot.com/2008/03/layering.html

Sunday, March 23, 2008. This art assignment involved using layers. The original picture is the top picture, and the bottom picture is the new one. I worked with layers and enhanced different ones, and just played around with the colour. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Andrea Ann: art.

http://www.andreas-art-blog.blogspot.com/2008/03/art.html

Sunday, March 23, 2008. This art assignment involved using text. I ended up with this after playing around with it for a long time. I used different filters and all different kinds of text. I especially like the contrast and different types and sizes of fonts in this piece. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Heather's Sketches: Men talk of killing time...

http://heatherwonder.blogspot.com/2008/04/men-talk-of-killing-time.html

Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Men talk of killing time. This was the first exercise of the year. We had to experiment with combining images and including text. I actually really enjoyed this assignment and I like the way it turned out. I am impressed with the textures that I could achieve with a computer. I think that I might try to focus on texture as a theme for the course. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Men talk of killing time. I started taking a photoshop class a few months ag.

So here's a photo i restored, and a version with a bit more style :). This is the image I choose when told I had to find a self-portrait to mimic, - not exactly typical, but I like it. Degas is probably my favourite artist of all time; I love his colours and the way he captures things you wouldn't normally be drawn to. So this assignment involved creating a movie, set to music, that merged 10 or more images (which could be altered using Photoshop) and scanned items. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://amandasblotspot.blogspot.com/2008/04/so-slowly.html

So this assignment involved creating a movie, set to music, that merged 10 or more images (which could be altered using Photoshop) and scanned items. I was really stuck on this one,. no inspiration. Finally I came up with the idea of clocks , then a song came to me,. and well, here's the result. I wish I had had more time for this, but you can only do so much. I scanned my alarm clock, while it was plugged in, adjusted some of the photos to increase the momentum of the images. View my complete profile.

Heather's Sketches: Abstract painting

http://heatherwonder.blogspot.com/2008/04/abstract-painting.html

Wednesday, April 2, 2008. This is an abstract painting done with photoshop. We were limited to using only two colours and I thought that red and black would compliment each other and look luxurious. I used both the paintbrush tool and the smudge tool. I kind of like it.I think that it sort of looks like drapery. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Men talk of killing time. Heather's Sketches: Digital Painting

http://heatherwonder.blogspot.com/2008/04/digital-painting.html

Wednesday, April 2, 2008. Okay, here are some different versions of a digital painting that we had to do for class. I chose to work with images of a graveyard because I find them to be very peaceful and oddly hopeful. I think that cemeteries have a beauty that is often overlooked because they are thought to be creepy, -but I enjoy them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Men talk of killing time. Heather's Sketches: Playing with words

http://heatherwonder.blogspot.com/2008/04/playing-with-words.html

Wednesday, April 2, 2008. This is my favourite quote! We were supposed to take a piece of text and create a piece of art with it. The final composition didn't have to be readable but mine is because I really appreciate these words. I chose colours that I like and added the blue for emphasis to reflect the way the quote talks about Christians being different. SECURITY CENTER: Look Please Here. April 3, 2008 at 8:16 PM. blot: Banc Framboise

http://amandasblotspot.blogspot.com/2008/02/banc-framboise.html

This assignment involved taking a photo and inverting or changing the colours to create a digital painting. I used the paint bucket tool to spill a magenta colour (which I picked up from the bench) in the wrought iron and a blue colour (from the iron) into the snow. Then I added a yellow to the bench area to complement these colours. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Things worth a space

Things worth a space. Random rants about mostly .net related programming. Friday, March 6, 2009. Current database technology is mostly based on the relation database, a huge peice of expensive black box software. What i would like to see is two things. An ORM or object database that i don't have to design the database tables to use. Maybe it generates the tables from attributes i put on my classes. Thursday, July 10, 2008. Radchart in ASP.NET MVC. Easy to get to work. I wanted to make a more elegant appr...
