Summer Shenanigans in Sunny Scotland | Andrew Haynes' Weblog

Andrew Haynes' Weblog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Summer Shenanigans in Sunny Scotland. September 10, 2012. Where in the world would you like to spend your 50. Was the question. It sounded exciting at first until the proviso that it had to be somewhere cheap as were are saving to get married quickly followed. It was then that we noticed that, unlike the cheap B&B accommodation that we’d assumed we could find, at the height of the tourist season, most B&Bs were fully booked and for the cost of sta...

Andrew Haynes' Weblog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. On Being A Stag. March 11, 2013. Whilst being incredibly excited about my forthcoming nuptials, I am only too aware that I am slightly older than the average prospective groom and can’t help feeling a bit silly about some of the rituals that go with the occasion. I was able to convince him that a very small amount of macho-ness would be all I could muster at my age and that doing things which kept us gently occupied and reduced the time available ...

Andrew Haynes' Weblog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. December 12, 2011. Oh dear,’ sighed Helen one sunny day in May, sounding as wistful and contemplative as a recalcitrant schoolgirl who’s just realised he missed her opportunity to cause a minor explosion in the chemistry lab when the teacher’s back was turned. What’s the matter dearest? I enquired in my most caring manner. I’m well into middle age,’ she plaintively moaned, ‘and I’ve never been to Istanbul! Hotel Erboy turned out to be much better ...

Andrew Haynes' Weblog. Just another WordPress.com weblog. September 11, 2011. Once we’d reached to right path, the going became much easier and, for about a mile, we let ourselves believe that Blencathra’s reputation was rather an exaggeration. Helen was much better and strode boldly over some sections that had me closing my eyes and clutching the rock with my toes through the soles of my boots. As we watched them go, we looked at the climb and, despite the fact we’d just seen two people do it, we couldn...

Andrew Hayes PR | All Things PR & Reputation
All Things PR and Reputation. Public Relations & Reputation. It’s interesting to see that as we close another year – we do so captivated by stories in the media of absolute PR blunders. 2014 started with us talking about Paula Deen. And Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. 2015 looks to open with us talking about Bill Cosby. And what I’m already labeling as the BIGGEST. Corporate blunder of the year: Sony. 8216;s incredible mishandling of the North Korean email scandal and hacking and its decision to not air. Again H...

mindless blather
Moving Away from Android. Moving on from Posterous. This is my first post using Jekyll as my blogging engine. With posterous shutting down, I felt like I had to find a new alternative. I don’t blog often, but I wanted a system that I felt like would last, in case the next site I chose shut down, too. That means that my system should be self-hosted, if necessary. Like most developers (I assume), I spend the majority of my workspace staring at a terminal window. You know, like this:. It's been a while.
