Nicks Eulogy - ant. Aug 5th, 2008 09:00 pm. We had Nick's funeral yesterday. The funeral was for close family and friends, but I know that many of you knew him well. So I've posted the eulogy I made at the funeral (along with a few photos) for everyone to read. Nick was born on 1st August 1978. He would have been 30th last Friday. So in an attempt to keep in touch, I thought I'd put up what I've been up to this year. Other good bits were several surf trips (or more correctly, "Sitting on sofa drinking tea and complaining how the surf isn't perfect trips") to Croyde, robot lego for my birthday, and a sunny Glastonbury where I saw Leonard Cohen on perfect form. 2008-12-31 02:56 pm (UTC). According to Eddie Meyer on PM today, boss of MI5 reckons there are now about 2000 folks in uk who might blow themselves up or get up to similar mischief, and extremists are now recruiting teenagers as young as 15. Walking into Sainsbury's today, and seeing that they have their fucking christmas decorations up already , I briefly considered joining the jihad myself. 2007-11-06 06:55 am (UTC). Not before time. I thought I would write something about Nick's death and my experiences since then. Whilst I don't intend to write anything that is deliberately provocative, I am also aware that many of those who read this knew Nick well and this is obviously an emotional subject, so if you read it you might consider doing so at an appropriate time.
