Waking Life: A Poem a Day
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2010/03/poem-day.html
Tuesday, March 16, 2010. A Poem a Day. We are trying to start a habit of reading a poem a day at lunchtime. This was today's. Elinore thought it was funny. I thought it was worth sharing. The Blind Men and the Elephant. It was six men of Indostan. To learning much inclined,. Who went to see the Elephant. Though all of them were blind),. That each by observation. Might satisfy his mind. Approached the Elephant,. And happening to fall. Against his broad and sturdy side,. At once began to bawl:. And all wer...

Waking Life: September 2009
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 13, 2009. A while ago I mentioned that I was making a baby carrier. Well, I realized I never posted any photos, and now I've made two! After making the first one I had to make a few pattern adjustments, and I think the second one came out much nicer (although you probably won't be able to tell anything from the pictures). You can use these from birth up to about 35lbs (if you can carry 35lbs! This is one that someone asked me to make for them. With the hood down. Toby going for a ride!

Waking Life: January 2010
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 29, 2010. This was her absolute highlight of Christmas! 5 Kevin begged and begged so much for a cover for his air compressor (in the garage) long after I decided to make him one, that I appliqued a pink heart on it as a joke! I'll try and put some updated photos on soon. This month has been a good break after the rush of the holidays. Be warm, wherever you are! Friday, January 01, 2010. Here are some pictures from 2009. Summing up a year. The Passing of the Year. Out peal the bells!

Waking Life: September 2010
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 08, 2010. I have been contemplating for some time about whether to continue this blog. It was begun as a means to communicate with family that does not live in town, and that has been the only reason I have kept up with it for so long. In order to be more available to my family and on the computer less, I have decided to discontinue blogging. GASP! For now, anyway. Instead I hope to send out emails with pictures a few times a year (maybe quarterly? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Waking Life: Februrary
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2010/03/februrary.html
Sunday, March 21, 2010. In February we spent a weekend with our friends in northern Michigan. The snow was lovely. We spent lots of time playing in it and skiing. I finally got a picture of Elinore on skiis. She has gotten really quick and agile on them this season. That makes it more fun for all of us. The kids all got on very well and had a blast playing together all weekend. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Poem a Day. Bodine Island (Family Blog). Calling All Wolthai (Wolthuis Family Blog).

Waking Life: February 2010
http://jwolt.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 26, 2010. Those of you who do not know all of my secrets. May not know that I am a big science fiction/fantasy fan. I am always a little embarrassed to admit this. I think it is because most people either love it or hate it. There isn't much middle ground (except for amazing classics like. The Lord of the Rings. The Chronicles of Narnia. It is the rare book that can bridge the gap. Anyway, I convinced Kevin to read C.S. Lewis's. Myself in little bits. If that makes any sense at all.

Calling all Wolthai: August 2011
http://wolthuisfamily.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 28, 2011. One of the good things about a vacation is the more relaxed pace of life- being able to nap anywhere, anytime, together (Eric and Molly) or alone (Noah). Another great memory is all of the good meals we enjoyed. The four families took turns preparing breakfasts and suppers with others assigned to clean up. One night, Brian and Amy prepared an appetizer buffet which offered a delicious variety. Many cartloads of groceries, but the results were always worth it!

Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Hello, Miss Molly- And Good-Bye. Little Molly, Eric and Angela's new daughter, arrived in mid-August and could not have had a more attentive and proud older brother than Gabe. He told us that every time he said "Shhhhh," to her, she stopped crying. Hope that continues! Tuesday, September 07, 2010. Sophie's Party in the Park. It was truly another birthday party to remember! Happy Birthday, dear Sophie! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hello, Miss Molly- And Good-Bye.

Calling all Wolthai: More of Angkor Wat
http://wolthuisfamily.blogspot.com/2011/06/more-of-angkor-wat.html
Saturday, June 18, 2011. More of Angkor Wat. Eric and Gabe climbed up these stairs to the top of one of the temple ruins- and then had to turn around at the top and come down. We were fascinated by the way the ancient trees grew around and into the remains of the buildings. It's good to know that care is being given so that these structures can "teach" future generations.
