Turning 30 and a half: Always Remember
http://cdnsue.blogspot.com/2005/11/always-remember.html
November 11, 2005. My niece just asked me 'How long are we supposed to remember for? When I told her I attended this morning's ceremony. The answer is simple. Always. Everyone was soaked to the skin and the CO's kept reminding their cadets to keep moving their fingers and toes, lest they lose circulation. I saw a few cadets lose their balance, and a couple instances, actually pass out but all seemed to be deeply aware of the significance of why they were. Vancouver, British Columbia. A struggling writer ...

Turning 30 and a half: July 2004
http://cdnsue.blogspot.com/2004_07_01_archive.html
July 05, 2004. The new hair removal cream with the razorless razor? I put the evil stuff on my legs the other day. It started to burn. No worries, I thought. That's probably what it's supposed to do. Then after about 90 seconds, I look down to shockingly realize my legs were covered in blood. Chemical burns, baby! Queue jumping in the shower, hosing myself off. Of course, now I have red swollen rashy legs, still hairy and now I can't use a razor either because of this mess. There were some heirlooms in t...

Turning 30 and a half: Ceremonies and the like
http://cdnsue.blogspot.com/2005/11/ceremonies-and-like.html
November 11, 2005. Ceremonies and the like. IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow. Between the crosses row on row,. That mark our place; and in the sky. The larks, still bravely singing, fly. Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago. We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,. Loved and were loved, and now we lie. Take up our quarrel with the foe:. To you from failing hands we throw. The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die. Those serving as Peacekeepers an...

Snapper: A Challenging Summer
http://suzysnapper.blogspot.com/2007/09/challenging-summer.html
Thursday, September 13, 2007. So my intention was to take the summer off from blogging to clear my head, think of new avenues to write about and just simply take a break. Well, I have had an extremely challenging summer. I am bound and determined not to be negative or down, so I would consider posting from time to time, and then think.let's wait a week until I can say something good. Unfortunately, that never happened. Towards the end of August, I began to feel back on my game. I was stronger, regain...

Snapper: June 2006
http://suzysnapper.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 30, 2006. As I prepare for Canada Day weekend (or as the L'il Ms Thang says 'Canaday'), I am planning to take a lot of time to reflect what a fantastic country I live in. This morning, the Globe and Mail reports on some of the vicious and disgusting thought patterns of the Toronto terror suspects. It makes my patriotic side get about as protective as a mother bear with her cub. This is my country - my home. And I am damned proud of that. Four jobs I’ve had:. Pharmaceutical r and d buyer.

Snapper: Full Circle
http://suzysnapper.blogspot.com/2007/12/full-circle.html
Sunday, December 16, 2007. It's interesting some times how the universe makes things happen in certain ways. How certain situations present themselves in a way you could never have expected. Our family, like many families, has had some difficult times. I grew up knowing my four aunts, but there were two uncles in the family that I knew nothing about. Sure, there were twitterings and comments but they were a mystery to me. There were so many stories. So many things to discuss. So many fences to me...I had...

Snapper: Orbs
http://suzysnapper.blogspot.com/2007/09/orbs.html
Monday, September 17, 2007. Do you believe in orbs? I do Maybe that's what makes me see something in this photo, and maybe not. Since my accident, I have been feeling a very strong presence with me. I have been jokingly calling it my 'angel'. Last night, I took this photo with a clean lens. I tried to recreate it several times, to no avail. Sure, it could be a dust spot, but the face is eerie. Snapper: January 2006
http://suzysnapper.blogspot.com/2006_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 28, 2006. And so it begins. The beginning of new relationship is always full of extremes. It takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you see everything in a slightly different view. Now I find myself at the edge of a new adventure. Not long distance, but the polar opposite. He sits 15 feet away from my desk Monday to Friday. For the past 8 months, we have played this game of pretending that there was mere friendship between us. Snapper: April 2006
http://suzysnapper.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 21, 2006. Ever feel like this? The funny thing of this past week is that even though looking back, it would seem rather stressful, hectic and crazy, I don't remember ever feeling more confident that good things are right around the corner! My job is officially over, or will be April 28. I was given notice last Tuesday that there would be no forthcoming positions for me at this time. It felt like the largest boulder was ripped off my shoulders and I am 50 lbs. lighter. It just feels so good ...
