Wednesday, July 4. Zander record blown away. THE British zander record has been smashed out of sight with this stunning 21lb 5oz specimen, Angling Times can exclusively reveal. The huge fish, which eclipses Dave Lavender’s existing record of 19lb 5oz 8dr, caught from the Middle Level in Cambridgeshire in March 1998, was taken by 19-year-old James Benfield from the River Severn.
