But the children loved making them and every one is enjoying the beautiful spring colors after this long, cold winter. Barbara's Thought of the Day. Labels: Chinese scroll painting. What have we been doing in Art? | IST Elementary Art
https://istesart.wordpress.com/2013/11/05/what-have-we-been-doing-in-art
News and information from the Art Classroom. What have we been doing in Art? In EC, students have been discovering a variety of art materials and looked at shapes and colors. We used brushes, drawing materials, stamps, straws and even hands and feet! Kindergartners have been discovering art materials and mixing colors. Great fun and very messy! Observation skills were one of the things we focused on when creating beautiful self-portraits. Color mixing continues to amaze students! From your own site.

new city arts: fifth grade naturalists
http://newcityarts.blogspot.com/2012/04/fifth-grade-naturalists.html
It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. Each fifth grade artist used one of his/her own photographs taken on our photography field trip to the beautiful Missouri Botanical Gardens. To use as inspiration for a drawing, ceramic sculpture, and painting. This is a rigorous exercise in observation and perspective! It is also a wonderful way to experiment in different mediums to discover new strengths and work with challenges. Wow Those drawings are spectacular! April 21, 2012 at 7:25 AM.

Barbara's Thought of the Day: Warm and Cool Abstract Landscape
http://barbarasthoughtoftheday.blogspot.com/2015/02/warm-and-cool-abstract-landscape.html
Barbara's Thought of the Day. Thursday, February 12, 2015. Warm and Cool Abstract Landscape. Fun project for older artists and part of a painting unit exploring color relationships and color families. Students began by cutting an irregular wavy line across a long sheet of paper. This they used as a mask to block off the lower portion of their landscape. Tape in place. Using cool colors begin with a line at the horizon and add repeating lines to fill in the bottom portion of your work. Hydro Muscle Max Fe...

Animassiettes: February 2011

Saturday, February 19, 2011. Hier j'ai animé un atelie...

Barbara's Thought of the Day: Ready for The Big Day
http://barbarasthoughtoftheday.blogspot.com/2015/02/ready-for-big-day.html
Barbara's Thought of the Day. Monday, February 16, 2015. Ready for The Big Day. Finished up our clay Valentines last Thursday just in time for the big day. Kids were thrilled to have a token to take home to give to a special some one. No time for glazing. I set out palettes of liquid watercolors to apply right onto the bisque. You could also use box watercolors if you like. I have a couple bottles of glitter watercolor that added a little sparkle to the art though you can't really see it in the photos.
