Michelle's Hygiene Blog: March 2009
http://michelle09.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 28, 2009. My patient at the VA had, on his labial frenum between tooth numbers 8 and 9, a small round yellowish bump. It kinda looked like a pimple. When pressure was applied, the yellowish material came out. Again, like a pimple. I took an x-ray and he had a definite abscess around the root of #8. This was so cool to me! Tuesday, March 17, 2009. All day.not a single scheduled patient! I have better luck than that when I only have two patients scheduled. Thursday, March 5, 2009. I have be...

Michelle's Hygiene Blog: Production Day
http://michelle09.blogspot.com/2009/03/simulation-day.html
Tuesday, March 17, 2009. I think production days are cursed. Almost everyone I've talked to has had cancellations or no-shows on their production day. Mine was no different. Of the four patients I had scheduled, zero came! All day.not a single scheduled patient! I have better luck than that when I only have two patients scheduled. 4 patients and none of them came, what it up with that? Good job on the full mouth, that really feels good im sure! Friday, November 20, 2009. A Case of Bleeding Gums. The patient is in your chair.you have 20 minutes.what would you tell him? What would you do? Now I'm ready for feedback :) What would you have done? What else could I have done? What did I not consider? What would you do in two weeks if he comes back and reports no changes? Wednesday, November 18, 2009. I feel that I have a solid knowledge base from school, but am still learning new things everyday! So, I've decided to revive this blog! It's the perfect...

Dental Hygiene: February 2009
http://havinfun09.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 26, 2009. Today was my clinic simulation day. It was extremely buisy, but productive. In the morning I did a Pano on my sister and saw a 1a. Then I did an OD and x-rays on a pt I was hoping would qualify for boards. It was close, but not enough. I hope I can find a patient that reliable for boards. The whole thing went so smoothly. I didn't miss any calculus, Yeah! It was a good feeling to pass. Now I just need to find a patient for the real thing. Wednesday, February 4, 2009. I only f...

Dental Hygiene: January 2009
http://havinfun09.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 20, 2009. My VA day went well today. I had the class 3 in the morning. I was able to finish him, but it was only 3 quads because he was missing teeth. I missed two spots, both on the line angle of premolars. I was also able to do my ultrasonic PE. My afternoon patient was a very easy class 5. I didn't miss anything on him. Monday, January 19, 2009. I spent the whole time trying to find another patient, but was out of luck. Not a great way to start the semester. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

It's All Good!: March 2009
http://good09.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. What a long day! I am so excited to have that behind me. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Today was a good day. Both of my patients showed up! I was able to see my patient that is coming for mock boards and that went very well. I was also able to clean 2 quads of a class 4, which was a challenge for me. The calculus was very tenacious, so I was able to learn alot from this patient. I think I am done with my exams for class 3's and 4's now. That feels good. Tuesday, March 3, 2009.

Michelle's Hygiene Blog: December 2008
http://michelle09.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 18, 2008. Calculus to go, please. What do you get when you combine a class III patient with a smoker and a huge bridge of calculus? I was pretty excited to remove some of my patient's calculus with these large pieces still intact. I put them on my tray to show him, and he was shocked to see what had been in his mouth. My favorite part was that he wanted to take them home to show his girlfriend! Friday, December 5, 2008. Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

It's All Good!: January 2008
http://good09.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Today my patient didn't want x-rays, even though he needed them. It was a little frusterating. I have had two patients already who have refused x-rays even when I tell them that they would benefit from them. The ultrasonic scaler works very well on mandibular anterior lingual teeth on tenacious calculus. I did have to go over and hand scale, but it was much easier. Wednesday, January 16, 2008. It's All Good!: January 2009
http://good09.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 27, 2009. My class 3 patient was a good experience. He is going to be my mock board! I was able to clean two quads today so I hope I am ready for next Tuesday. He seems to be a good patient. He remembered to come and was on time. Hopefully that is how it works out on mock board day. I don't want this patient to be half an hour late like my last mock board patient. Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Thursday, January 15, 2009. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Tuesday, January 6, 2009.
