Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: September 2014
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Monday, 29 September 2014. Retro fabric design for this weeks Spoonflower contest and other fabric designs. It's been quite a while since I entered a Spoonflower fabric design contest. This weeks challenge was chairs and tables and in my back catalogue of designs I had a retro chair fabric which I always felt lacked a bit of oomph (see pic below) so I decided to rework it. Also reworked this last week was another of my butterfly waltz fabric designs. Tuesday, 23 September 2014. I was delighted to find ou...

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: February 2015
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 February 2015. Fabric contest, more neckwarmers and the motorway mermaid. Strange sort of month, not the best so pleased it's nearly done. I very quickly knocked up a fabric design for this weeks Spoonflower contest as I've not joined in for ages, the subject was Cubist Cats. Loads of entries as cats are always popular, here's mine. More neckwarmers have been crocheted as it's still blooming freezing in the house and you can't have too many neckwarmers! Friday, 13 February 2015. Some renovatio...

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: August 2015
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Friday, 28 August 2015. My fave veggie cafe is closing and other bits. The end of an era looms as my favourite veggie cafe in Bridlington, The Little Organic Bakery (formerly Bean There), is closing sometime in September. My friends who own it are going in to semi-retirement and looking forward to doing other things now they have their first grand child. It's a real shame but nothing stands still and I have some lovely memories of happy times with friends and food from my trips to the cafe over the years.

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: August 2014
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 26 August 2014. Two vintage book style needlecases. Normal day to day design work has taken priority of late and I have a couple of interesting logo designs on the boil which I will reveal when they have been decided on and finalised. In the meantime here are a couple of crafty things recently completed. I do quite like making sewing needlecases and I've indulged in having some of my own books from when I was a toddler in the late 60's, printed onto fabric and stitched into a book style. Other m...

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: June 2015
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Friday, 26 June 2015. Almost ready for Let Hope Bloom. I've immersed myself in crochet flowers this week as I get ready for my crochet workshops at Let Hope Bloom. The printouts are done and the mini balls of wool are bagged up. I've also been making some wearable things to inspire the crochet flower makers what they could go on to make if they master a few basic stitches. Here we have some new brooches. I've also done bracelets and a ring. Instead I will wear this neck-tie. Monday, 15 June 2015. We will...

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: October 2014
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 28 October 2014. October - not a great month despite juicing! October is nearly done, it started quite positive but tailed off when I got a horrible cold last week and so I'm just trying to get back to normal this week. It was one of the worst colds I'd had for a few years because for 2 days my temperature was hot and cold within minutes and I couldn't regulate a steady comfort level in this house so being in bed was the best place. Still beseiged by huge spiders which I hate so I bought this fr...

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: The Farewell Tour #1 - Withernsea High School, 60th Anniversary
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-farewell-tour-1-withernsea-high.html
Sunday, 5 July 2015. The Farewell Tour #1 - Withernsea High School, 60th Anniversary. I wasn't sure about going as I only have a few happy memories but circumstances this weekend of visiting a sick relative meant my sister was over from Belgium so we decided we would go for a wander round the corridors. I actually quite like the minimal, austere 1950s architectural style which a lot of schools had back then. My only happy memories at school were art related things and that was right at the end in the 5th...

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: January 2015
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, 29 January 2015. A weekend on Skye. It's a long way to go, 9 or 10 hours drive up. hit the hay for a few hours had one full day meeting up with people and doing things, then drive all the way back the next day. We must be mad but we love it. Not many hotels open this time of year so had to opt for something a bit more extravagant than our usual bargain basement accommodation. We stayed in a lovely suite in the turret of this hotel, the Cuillin Hills. This is the cabinet of all those rare spirits.

Poppycock & Other Creative Nonsense: November 2014
http://poppycockcreative.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, 27 November 2014. A new design for a competition. Last week I rustled up this design along the theme of trees and vegetables for a competition at a UK fabric printers. I think it is a relatively new company called Lacuna Press and they have launched the competition on Facebook and are asking people to 'like' whichever design takes their fancy before the end of the month and the winner will receive a £50 fabric print voucher. Wednesday, 19 November 2014. The High Street, to anyone who knows it, ...
