I'm trying not to become too stressed out by details at home, but some of it is unavoidable. The good thing is, these last few weeks are going to fly. My friend Elizabeth recently came to visit me. Total cost for metro tickets the entire weekend: 20 pesos ($2.00). Total cost of food for Elizabeth and me for the entire day Sunday: 19 pesos ($1.90). Of times my butt was grabbed on the metro: 1 (argh! Of times we got robbed: 0. Of people in the Zocalo for the protest: several million. Of the time I’m glad I moved to Mexico: 99.

4 days of San Francisco. San Francisco was fantastic. I visited my adorable friend Wiebke, my former roommate during my stay in Providence, RI. In addition I met my fellow student Christian being at the last stop of his road trip through the USA. A mother's response to a blogging family. Sunday 12 June 2011. The garden in June. Lots of stuff growing, and my new polytunnel. Sunday 20 March 2011. It's just one birthday after another at this time of the year. First comes Ian's, then Carolan's, mine, Patty's and my mother's. I know at least 2 people who have birthdays on the same day as myself. Falling Awake

The eyes have it. I struggle about writing about personal things. I love when people allow themselves to be vulnerable to others, but I don't know if I should do it myself. When I can't be objective or calm, when I'm feeling emotional, like the depression I've struggled with after finding out I now have wet macular degeneration in both eyes - well, I don't know about letting all that out.
