Living in My Oblivion - A Life in Low Budget Films. I've worked in production on independent (see"low budget") movies for over 25 years. As my mentor, Stan Bickman, used to say "You can't make this stuff up." The fantasy is not only in front of the camera - there is a good deal behind. This is a little peek. The title is a wink and a nod to the wonderful film about these movies called "Living in Oblivion.". Monday, May 16, 2016. What If they Prepped a Web Series. When I was doing a ton of indie films in ...

Delusions of Fresh Meat. A Film Student Confronts the Inevitable. Thursday, April 25, 2013. With about six weeks left of college, it's fair to say I've moved into a land of both desperation and fear, of debt and unemployment. I've just crossed over into. The Panic Zone! Where do I begin? In between working on projects. For school, film club shorts. And covering 2 scripts a week for Spec Scout. Any free time I do actually have is now spent probing the internet for a real job in Hollywood. Good question, b...

Delusions of Fresh Meat: Mediating your inner noob
http://delusionsoffreshmeat.blogspot.com/2013/07/mediating-your-inner-noob.html
Delusions of Fresh Meat. A Film Student Confronts the Inevitable. Monday, July 22, 2013. Mediating your inner noob. Studying film in college was one of the best decisions I ever made. I have no regrets. However, reality sets in after graduation and now that I'm looking for work in the film biz, nobody gives a shit what I studied. The real question is: can I do the job? I'm used to small student crews where everybody does everything. Hey, can you move that light over here? Heard of it before, it might hav...

Lights, Camera, Action! How to Professionally Light Your Scene. On , in Hollywood TIPS. Filmmaker Noam Kroll reminds fellow filmmakers and novices that it might seem easier to shoot with natural light because there’s no lighting equipment to deal with; however, he explains that the trade-off is that there is some control lost and more planning required to work with available light. Delusions of Fresh Meat. A Film Student Confronts the Inevitable. Tuesday, March 5, 2013. I was riding on the bus yesterday when one of my classmates took up the seat next to me. I don't know him too well personally, but we made small talk about our screenwriting course and then out of the blue he triggered a memory I had almost let slip away. So you got any film internships goin' on or anything? No phone call. If there ever were a time in my life where I had really. ANOTHER nudge phone call. Nothing.

Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Maybe You Shouldn't Stand Too Close To Me. The first thing that made me think of this is that I've got an ongoing battle with the school across the street from me. A few years ago, they installed security lighting. Obviously, I don't have a problem with the fact that the school wants to have security lighting. We've got porch lights. It's a good thing for a neighborhood to have some lighting at night. More than down. They'd be great lights in the Goofy. Parking Lot at Disney.

Sunday, September 30, 2012. Of any possibility of supporting Mr. McCain. Choosing Sarah Palin as a running mate, among a number of other gaffes eliminated McCain from consideration for me and Obama continued to impress me more and more as the campaign season went on. Thursday, January 31, 2013. And It Only Took Four Years. Once upon a time, back in January of 2008, I posted about how I 'd been shanghaied into being an Extra. In a show I was working on - Skins. I also mentioned that one of the Producers was shooting behind-the-scenes footage and interviews and that I'd post the video once he put it online. Well he just got around to posting it and I'm being really, really timely in bringing it to your attention. You'll be pleased to know that my part in it is highly.
