Striving for sticky fingers and sunny days. Yes, I know! I am a moody cow! I have no idea if it is PMT or a progesterone surge. I have no idea if I am pregnant or not because my body lies! I am in a stinking mood and have a massive headache, my boods are sore and I have pelvic cramps. Yes, I know it doesn’t help that I don’t have my specs on. I am aware they are on top of my head! I KNOW I am being a stroppy unreasonable moo when it is pointed out. Not feeling it does not mean it is not happening…. You a...

Striving for sticky fingers and sunny days. Aunty Flo is not a welcome guest. I never thought I would loath the idea of a visit from Aunty Flo, when I was sitting in front of the big square TV. You remember the ones in the wooden cabinet? Drinking milk and not caring about the milk moustache, attempting to eat my body weight in milk biscuits. (My mother would never have allowed it). I loved Bod, do you also remember the frog and his orchestra? If I am like this now I may need to come with a health warnin...

Striving for sticky fingers and sunny days. Off to the GP (again)…. So here we are with the results of the first round of tests. It seems I have an underactive thyroid gland (no shit Sherlock, I’ve been telling them that for quite some time) and borderline liver function. This is quite scary as my Dear Dad died from a congenital liver problem. I do think it is related to my thyroid but better safe than sorry, and no it is not caused by drink. In other news DD and I are back on the TWW train. Aunty Flo is...

Striving for sticky fingers and sunny days. When dreams and reality collide. I know the conception rituals are getting to me. How do I know? Well, they have entered my dreams. Last night (well actually early this morning) I had a very strange dream. There are lots of little parts to it. I will try to string them together and make some sense of them. It is around then I woke up. I do remember how much I really needed to wash the dog and how much he liked it. I remember the feeling of urgency to find D...

Striving for sticky fingers and sunny days. Am I imagining things? Gah, 8DPO (days past ovulation) and I am going loopy listening for signals that there is a wee little zygote making its way to my womb. This means there is a good chance we conceived last weekend. Weirdly this would make me three weeks pregnant as you count from the first day of your last period. Odd eh? I have since despatched the Teen Son and he has returned with the goods. So, the million dollar question is “Is it a craving? Fill in yo...

Always waiting. | lollypops and ladybirds

Striving for sticky fingers and sunny days. It seems that TTC (trying to conceive) is all about waiting. Waiting to ovulate, the two week wait while you wait for the appearance of Aunty Flow, waiting for results from blood tests, waiting for appointments. Waiting to see how long the monthly cycle decides to be this month. Then there is the diet issue, what to eat, what not to eat, what foods are estrogenic, can we have a glass of wine (DD = One won’t hurt, Me = NO! July 5, 2014. Laquo; Previous Post.

Ovulation confusion | lollypops and ladybirds
https://lollypopsandladybirds.wordpress.com/2014/07/10/ovulation-confusion
Striving for sticky fingers and sunny days. Then there are the more invasive methods. The first and least invasive is to track your BBT (basal body temperature). You do this by taking your temperature each morning upon waking, before you have even sat up, immediately, at once! So you start your day thinking “I want a baby”. It is very easy to become slightly obsessive about this and I think I run the risk of becoming rather demented over it. Lucky DD eh? Perhaps I should get my ruler out? Then there are ...
