An Optimist's Journey

Monday, September 27, 2010. Yesterday, however, was a different story. I visited a number of different stores during my 3 hour jaunt and in each and every one I was not only given immense attention but the ladies went out of their way to assist me - to the extent that I started wondering whether they had mistaken me for another (more high profile) individual! Feeling like a STAR for the price of a cup of coffee = Priceless. Thursday, September 23, 2010. Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. So I was naturally on t...

An Optimist's Journey: 8/29/10 - 9/5/10

http://anoptimistsjourney.blogspot.com/2010_08_29_archive.html

Saturday, September 4, 2010. I find change is almost always bittersweet. You're sad because you are leaving people behind but you're also full of hope and anticipation, wondering what the next phase has in store. I had to say goodbye to my colleagues yesterday - colleagues who are actually more like family and who, oddly enough, have assumed roles in my professional life that my members of my family command in my personal life. Finally, there are the others - people who support you, in more ways than one...

An Optimist's Journey: 9/19/10 - 9/26/10

http://anoptimistsjourney.blogspot.com/2010_09_19_archive.html

Thursday, September 23, 2010. Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. Is a real eye-opener. A must read. A recent experience I had could be a prime example of some of the theories espoused by the book. I recently handed back my BB to the IT department. For those who don't know that means, how I envy you! BB = blackberry, IT = the information technology. So I was naturally on the lookout for a new mobile device. I resolved that I would not buy anything that resembled or felt like my old mobile device.

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Bharat mein aapka swagat hain. Read on. This is the first part of many. If the document is amended, the need for a regulatory approval in India does not arise. Can your counsel confirm this and can I call you in 20 minutes? Ok, so the start was not exactly smooth. He asks. "No.". Stamp stamp, "Next! My checked in bag has acquired a new look having spent the last 5 hours in the company of other bags. As a result, what used to be a red bag is now a red and black bag. A 45 minute car ...

An Optimist's Journey: Kerala - Part 2

http://anoptimistsjourney.blogspot.com/2009/07/kerala-part-2.html

Saturday, July 25, 2009. Kerala - Part 2. Better late than never.this is the second (and for the time being, last) post relating to our trip to India. On reaching the destination, a beautiful sea side resort, we make our way to the poolside which is where the dinner is being held only to find twenty silk sarees of different colours facing us. We smile. They smile back. We try to merge. And they look at us as if to say “C’mon, who are you kidding? We say our goodbyes and we’re off the next day.

An Optimist in a Rut

Template designed by hanne. I look around and see the world for what it is, then I pass out and dream. Thursday, 31 January 2008. For everyone who knows him, I've found a new one. Hehe. Imagine finding another one? Another reason to come to work? It started as a crush but after someone showed me his pics, it was never the same. She in effect sealed his fate as my shithead! On top of that, I love chocolates! And now, I found a new sense of appreciation for M&Ms! Dreamed by 5:38 PM. 0 had violent reactions.

An Optimist's Alcove

July 27, 2011. Recently I have fallen in love with all things vintage,. And unfortunately for my bank account, a new little antique store has opened up right across the street. With new items coming in every week, exploring has become one of my favorite pass times. Just a few days ago I walked in to find this piece and it was love at first sight. Who wouldn't fall for this cute little phone bench? I wonder who has used it and what sort of important calls were made from that incredible orange seat! Check ...

Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Once I was a lonely dog,. Just looking for a home. I had no place to go,. No one to call my own. I wandered up and down the streets,. In rain in heat and snow. I ate what ever I could find,. I was always on the go. My skin would itch, my feet were sore,. My body ached with pain. And no one stopped to give a pat. Or to gently say my name. I never saw a loving glance,. I was always on the run. For people thought that hurting me. Was really lots of fun. And took me off my feet.
