An anthropologist's fieldnotes about everyday life. Taste Tested: Minimalist Baker’s Black Bean Brownies and Peanut Butter Mousse. I figured they would be a great addition to my bean goal especially since I am also trying out the whole gluten-free thing. These brownies have absolutely no flour and really, a minimal amount of sugar. (On an aside, please forgive my horrible photos, I took these at work one day….). I felt like I was eating a crazy fancy buttercream cupcake at Trophy or Cupcake Royale (for t...

An anthropologist's fieldnotes about everyday life. We were fortunate enough to have a perfect beach day. We went for walks on the beach, visited a friend’s new property they’re building, cooked breakfast, shopped for small goods in town, ate a wonderful homemade chili and cornbread, knit, hot tubbed and spent time talking to one another. It was a very relaxing day filled with simple pleasures. I was inspired by all the reflections in the water. The tide was out and yet a thin layer of water remained.

An anthropologist's fieldnotes about everyday life. Notes from the Weekend. Confession: This was actually last weekend, but the point and the photos are still the same. Absolutely. I thought I would share some snippets of the weekend with you. Nature’s chandelier anyone? Later that day, I met up with Marie and we headed to Golden Gardens park that overlooks the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains. By the amount of people who were there, you would have thought it was the warmest day in summer! On Sunday it ...

A Designer's Palate: Alien Veggies
http://adesignerspalate.blogspot.com/2010/12/alien-veggies.html
Friday, December 17, 2010. Sorry I have been slacking on posting my own creations lately. Here's some interesting looking fruits and veggies in the meantime. The first one reminds me of "Jerry" from Enemy Mine. Oh shit, did I just date myself? Salak- Fruit native to Indonesia. Durian- Fruit native to Southeast Asia. Smells like rotten onions, but is supposed to be yummy. Still a little scared to try it myself. Morel Mushrooms- Who doesn't like mushrooms? January 22, 2011 at 6:45 PM.

College-student-eating: at home and at school. Happy New Year, everyone! I like to keep things simple for breakfast. I usually just have a bowl of cereal. Today I decided to have some Cheerios with milk. I rarely eat breakfast but on the weekends I generally have a peice of fruit. This is a typical Ghanaian dish made of beans and rice with beef stew and I enjoy eating this in the morning. Filed under: Food and college students. Munya Wekwete’s Breakfast.
