Fish Are in Geelong. Barwon Valley Park sits on a wide section of the Barwon River in Belmont, just minutes from the CBD. There is a small fishing platform and you can fish anywhere else along the river. There is a massive playground with BBQ facilities and toilets. This is a great spot for kid's birthdays and other gatherings. There is a caravan park across the road if you are looking for somewhere to stay. There is also a general store across the road for food and other supplies.

Fish Are in Geelong. Just minutes from the CBD, the pier at Rippleside is worth a look. I like to have nice scenery to fill in time between bites and this pier has fantastic views across the bay to Geelong. There are a ton of other things to do at Rippleside, with BBQ shelters and tables and a giant castle playground for the kids. There is also a restaraunt right next to the water. Fish types: Snapper, whiting, trevally, flathead. Bait: Bluebait, whitebait, squid, pippies, chicken.

Fish Are in Geelong. Located on the Geelong's vibrant waterfront, Cunningham Pier has been a popular fishing spot for generations. You can catch many types of fish here. The water is deep, even at low tide. The pier is about five metres above the water, so if you like to land fish into a net you'll need one with a long handle. Bring a bucket on a strong rope if you want to lift water to keep your catch alive. If it is around Christmas time you can see Geelong's floating Christmas tree.

Fish Are in Geelong. There are some excellent spots in this area and it is also a nice spot for a picnic or BBQ, or a stroll along the river. This hole on the south-east side of the bridge(pictured below) provides a calm place for fish to hide. This tranquil pool does hide a few snags, though. If you float a bait just below the surface out around the lily pads you will often get a bite. With tips and tricks to catch different varieties of fish. Address: Queens Park Rd, Highton.

Fish Are in Ceres. Merrawarp Road, Ceres. Sitting on a wide section of the Barwon River about ten kilometres from Geelong, there is good fishing here. It is one of only a handful of spots with river access in this area. There are a few snags, so use a float to keep your bait a metre or so below the surface. Don't let your best lures sink too far before you start winding. There are no toilets or other facilities. The track can get boggy so watch out after heavy rain. Address: Merrawarp Road, Ceres.

Fish Are In Bellarine. Connewarre / Mollers Lane. You really do not. Want to drive your car down to the water here, even in good weather or with a 4WD vehicle. See the second-last photo if you want to know why. Park on solid ground and walk the last couple of hundred metres. Take your rubbish with you and do not trespass on any neigbouring properties. Fish Are in Geelong. Located in Nth Geelong, this is a great spot to teach your kids to fish. It has low, even banks and few snags. You may not catch large bags of fish here, but you might get something. The lake is general stocked with native fish before school holidays. It is a large T-shaped rock wall with parking for around ten cars on the end and another ten on shore. It looks across the small harbour at St Helens.
