Apron History: November 2014

http://apronhistory.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Apron of the Month Patterns. Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Are you ready to see my sewing/crafting space? I am never sure what to call it.room or closet? It is rather large to be a closet and rather small to be a room! It does have a window and you could fit a twin bed if you really wanted to. It fits my sewing table along the left side perfectly. I love this view from my bedroom doorway, it makes me happy to see my sewing machine ready to go! It sure was nice to see the table for a few minutes. I love hav...

Apron of the Month Patterns. Saturday, March 21, 2015. This cute little plant is actually a grapefruit, it resides on the kitchen window sill. Our Grandma gifted it to us after she poked six grapefruit seeds in a pot and they all came up! She has the brightest green thumb in the world. Thursday, March 19, 2015. Apron History: Ready for Summer

http://apronhistory.blogspot.com/2015/04/ready-for-summer.html

Apron of the Month Patterns. Friday, April 24, 2015. We are ready and waiting for the nice weather to arrive! The porch floor has been swept, the furniture re-arranged and they summer pillow covers put on. All we need is a little sunshine! This is the other side of the porch, which ends up being more of the "entry". It is where the shoes and boots end up and where the constant stream of items coming and going is temporarily is parked. Are you ready for warm weather? Or are you already enjoying it? Every ...

Apron of the Month Patterns. Thursday, July 31, 2014. Easy (dairy-free) Elephant Ears. This morning I was in need of some quick comfort food and what better then cinnamony Easy Elephant Ears for breakfast! The original recipe is from our much loved and battered copy of Gold Medal's Alpha Bakery Children's Cookbook. I don't remember where we got it from, but we all have wonderful memories of learning to bake from it. Easy (dairy-free) Elephant Ears. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar.

Perhaps I Should Have Been Supervised...: Leap of Faith!

http://perhapsishouldhavebeensupervised.blogspot.com/2014/10/leap-of-faith.html

Friday, October 17, 2014. This is the Leap of Faith Sweater I knit. It is very aptly named, it was a Leap of Faith for me! It is called that because you STEEK up the middle to put a zipper in! For those who don't know what that means: you cut the sweater. After you knit it up (which you usually knit in the round) then you fold the steek part under and sew it down. Not very hard, just very scary because when you cut it you can't go back and redo it! I had Never steeked before! More cables down the sleeve.

Sunday, June 9, 2013. Do you Rummage or do you actually go into people's Garage? Either way, finding a FIND as we say, is always exciting. I have to be in the mood to go out and scavenge for treasures. When we went with some friends of ours, we all came home with something, it was very exciting. I love it anyway and there is usually something on the table covering up the middle. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welcome to our blog! Lilacs and Springtime: Bread Baking Aprons and a Crocheted Rug

http://lilacsandspringtime.blogspot.com/2015/07/bread-baking-aprons-and-crocheted-rug.html

Monday, July 27, 2015. Bread Baking Aprons and a Crocheted Rug. Marilla sighed and then said proudly:. I'm giving Anne that half dozen braided rugs I have in the garret. I never supposed she'd want them- they're so old-fashioned, and nobody seems to want anything but hooked mats now. But she asked me for them- said she'd rather have them then anything else for her floors. They are. Pretty. I made them of the nicest rags, and braided them in stripes. It was such company these last few winters.". When I wa...

Lilacs and Springtime: Blueberries and Raspberries

http://lilacsandspringtime.blogspot.com/2013/08/blueberries-and-raspberries.html

Friday, August 9, 2013. Last week mom, Hannah and I visited our favorite blueberry farm! I must admit that blueberries are my favorite berry and one of my most favorite foods. Each summer I look forward to the time we spend picking blueberries. The farm we visit is so lovely and there are just fields of blueberries everywhere! The blueberries are generally very large. Mom and Hannah picking blueberries. Also sampling a few as they go. : ). A beautiful blueberry field. I thought that the blueberries and r...

Friday, July 31, 2015. Last week was a blueberry week for me! Each year I look forward to driving out to our favorite blueberry farm and soaking in the beauty of the surrounding countryside and fields of blueberries. As I have mentioned before. Blueberries are my favorite berries. Each year instead of cake I ask my mom to bake me a blueberry pie for my birthday. There is something extra special about enjoying a taste of summer in January on my birthday. Monday, July 27, 2015. Marilla sighed and then said...

Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Easy Co-worker Present Ideas. It is that time again Christmas present season. It is always hard trying to figure out what to make or get for your co-workers to say hey I like working with you but not breaking the bank. This year I made two different things for co-workers. The quick and easy gift was cute little pumpkin bread! I found these neat single use baking pans with a lid! I just used one Pillsbury Pumpkin Quick Bread mix and it filled up all the pans. One little thing...

Perhaps I Should Have Been Supervised...: April 2013

http://perhapsishouldhavebeensupervised.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Knitting a Gansey Sweater. My mom got this book at our local yarn shop a couple of years ago. I started reading it recently, and have got all inspired to knit one for someone. I think the fascination of it is that I have not made one before. The Gansey just seemed to be easier to knit then Aran sweaters! But as I read this book I find they have there own special way to make them. In the book there is a pattern for sample sweater you can knit. I decided it looked fun! I knitted th...

Apron History

Apron of the Month Patterns. Tuesday, March 13, 2018. I was so proud of myself this winter, working on only one or two yarn projects at a time. Efficiently, I worked through one project after another. Then Spring arrived. and a flurry of inspiration! I am not even sure how many knitting and crochet projects I am in the middle of right now. There are the class samples, the projects I take to work and the projects for evening movie watching. Two of my knitting projects are quite the contrast! We can feel S...
