Apropos is built on top of the Rat, Mouse and Human IPI datasets. IPI provides a comprehensive, non-redundant list of proteins for these three species and also provides extensive database cross references. The comprehensive cross references to the. And others facilitates the annotation of each record with additional functional annotations. The sets of IPI records for the three species are tied together into ortholog groups using assignments from the MGD Orthology dataset.
