Arbitrary Criticism by Catherine Martin: 10 Places In Houston It's OK To Eat At Alone and In Your PJs.

http://www.arbitrarycriticism.com/2013/08/10-places-in-houston-its-ok-to-eat-at.html

Tuesday, August 6, 2013. 10 Places In Houston It's OK To Eat At Alone and In Your PJs. Let's be honest, there are only a few places that I WON'T go in my pajamas. And I'm not just talking about eateries - the grocery store, the museum, the movies. The only place I never wear my pajamas to is class, because that is so. Pink's Pizza is all about the punk rock lifestyle. What is the punk rock lifestyle, you ask? 4 Bernie's Burger Bus. 5 Buffalo Wild Wings. 7 Moon Tower Inn. One time I went in and the lady h...

Monday, August 12, 2013. Would I have a nervous breakdown? Would I ever eat again? I'll spoil the ending for you guys: there was a 4runner in the parking lot at La Mexicana with an open spot next to it -and they were open on a Monday and for lunch- yes. I was able to have breakfast. This just goes to show, 4runner owners of America - leaving a parking spot open for you on one side for other 4runner owners really does change lives. Just real thick and mucus-y? Look but more than anything, here's why I lov...

Monday, June 24, 2013. 8221; Never. I’ve never thought that. But Maggiano’s restaurant did, and that’s why they’re ranked number 1 Italian restaurant that I’ve ever eaten at. And I’ve even eaten at Italian restaurants, in Italy. Let me tell you guys, you don’t get free refills on all your entrees there, that’s for sure. Why wouldn’t I just park my own car? I think everyone at Maggiano’s should have a think about that. Monday, June 10, 2013. The best part about Feast is that you need a reservation to get ...

The Aimless Chef: Hey Mami, Don’t You Know That I Like To Make Soft Tacos. Posted by The Aimless Chef. Friday, September 03, 2010. Recently in the Houston Press, esteemed food commenter "Bruce R" called these the Coors Light of tacos. Comparing my soft tacos to one of the best selling beers in the United States is an amazing honor. Thanks Bruce! If commenters were news anchors, you'd be Isiah Carey. Now that all the Corpse Flower mania has died down. Have I lowered your expectations enough? As I sporked ...

Aimless Chef: Houston's Ultimate Top 3 - Chain Restaurants. Posted by The Aimless Chef. Sunday, July 10, 2011. When I discovered recently that The Ferm got a shout out on Eating Our Words. The Houston Press' food blog, I was like - WHAT THA H! Quote-unquote avid readers of The Ferm are probably familiar with SirRon's sobering attempts at getting published on Eating Our Words. But if you are not, after reading my post (of course), try to figure out which story is more affecting, the first. Today I would l...

Where's My Gravy?: Tales from the Market Part 3: Bison Quesadillas

http://wheresmygravy.blogspot.com/2016/03/tales-from-market-part-3-bison.html

A blog about cooking, eating, and all things food. Thursday, March 10, 2016. Tales from the Market Part 3: Bison Quesadillas. My last adventure with food from the Rice Farmer's Market yielded some very tasty results. This time around I was able to get a different set of ingredients to play with. What I got was a deliciously pungent truffle cheddar from Brazos Valley Cheese. A creamy, rich and slightly smokey chipotle goat cheese from Blue Heron Farms. 10-12 oz of bison tenderloin. 3 oz of truffle cheddar.

Before we get into the nuts and bolts of how we have to review hardware. Nowadays there is a multiplicity of options to get your bottle open. The basic corkscrew is just a piece of metal twisted in a helix fashion (known as the worm) fixed to a handle. This model has two small teeth imbedded in the body. Now us...

A blog about cooking, eating, and all things food. Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Tales from the Market Part 2: Swiss Chard, Cremini Mushroom and Pork Empanadas from Rice Farmer's Market. Last week I was invited to the Rice Farmer's Market. The purpose of this visit to the farmer's market was not just to indulge in some chit chat with vendors. I was brought along to write about my experience. And the ground pork from Shiner Pork and Beef. My goodies from the Farmer's Market. Five buches of Swiss Chard.

A simple cheese sauce is not hard to make. It also give you the freedom to make it how you want to. Purists will probably stick to cheddar or American cheese, but for the more adventurous you can try different cheeses or even cheese combinations. Arbitrary Culture

As we grow, move, re-shape, re-form and alter our lives, it is constantly demanded that we offer justification for doing so, a reason for our choices. Yet, the adaption or splicing of new and different cultures should happen at whim. For no other reason than just feeling like it. Culture is there to be absorbed, not to be explained.
