A Virtual Cultures Compulsory Blog. Because journals are just SO Web 1.0. Virtual Communities: Digg.com. Is just one of many peer-mediated news delivery and discussion site that have popped up and risen to prominence over the last year or so, but one of the most successful. Being enacted, but that’s inevitable for any site which allows for such easy debate about current issues on the internet. And it provides a one-stop-shop for viewing all the internet buzz as outputted by digg and its competitors. ...

A Blog dedicated to the discussion and analysis of content in KCB201: Virtual Cultures. Tuesday, May 30, 2006. Electronic v. Paper. If I don’t write to empty my mind, I go mad Lord Byron. If you had asked me six months ago to share my journal online I would have (politely) told you to f* * off. Six months later I’m contributing to my blog at least once a week and hoping that classmates comment on my latest entry. Not only does this challenge traditional mass media but it allows for greater customization&...

Thursday, April 27, 2006. I had to add this article to my blog. Not really subject related, but the other part of my study is law and i can tell you- codes or just hard to read judgements are not something. Long, tedious judgements are a very big part of our inherited legal culture. A highcourt judge with a sense of humor? Read the couriermail article here. Posted by Camille @ 5:17 PM. Tuesday, April 11, 2006. I have thought about it and thought about it. Posted by Camille @ 11:52 PM. It is always a ques...

Tuesday, May 30, 2006. The last couple of classes we have been participating in chat sessions. Trying to nut out the issues of the course. It was fairly helpful- my biggest issue was being able to follow the chat sessions fast enough to participate. I would attempt to comment and before i know it the line i wanted to address was off the screen. It would have been easier had i been able to make screen bigger i would have found it easier i suppose. But its week 13 and the end of classes. It seems off point...

A Virtual Cultures Compulsory Blog. Because journals are just SO Web 1.0. Another Monday and yet another Virtual Community to introduce you to…. I’ve been a member of the deviantART. Community for over four and a half years now, so when I had to choose a virtual community to participate in and write about for this blog, it was the logical choice. Thursday, March 30, 2006. There has to be something about blogs that makes me want to put in a little "about me" entry. I have had a look around at other blogs, with the exception of some more "technical" blogs to me i get this overwhelming sense that despite all the anonymity the internet can provide, people still want to show who they are and provide insights into their personal worlds. Whole blogs that show their family photos and their gorgeous children or talk about their therapy sessions. I want to...
