It felt good to get out and compete again. I ran a couple of half marathons earlier this year but treated them both as training runs. The temps really weren't that bad today, maybe 70F at the finish, though it always feels a little warmer when you are running hard. View my complete profile.

Injured left calf at mile 3. Prairie Fire Half Marathon. 24 / 1549 overall. 3 / 75 age group. Automatic qualification to 2012 NYC Marathon. 1/10 in Age Group, 3/96 Men. 1/10 in Age Group, 18/126 Men. 2/51 in Age Group, 16/740 Overall. Lost more than 110 lbs. with continuous daily exercise since May 2006.

Boston Marathon 2014 - Blood, sweat, and tears. And sweat. As we walked to the start line in Hopkington, some generous locals offered free supplies to runners - Beer, donuts, and cigarettes. That cracked me up, and it set the tone for race day. The crowd was incredible. Spirits were high. Smile if you peed a little.
