I think I may have mentioned before that Halloween is not really a holiday that Australians as a whole embrace. Oh, you do see the random plastic pumpkin display at the local supermarkets, and on the day you might see a stream of partially costumed college-aged kids heading down to the local pub.but on the whole, its not common. Its really an American holiday I'm told.

Saturday, May 19, 2012. I finally figured it out! Last Sunday as I was in church with my family some of the speakers were discussing memories of their moms (It was Mother's day). Memories of coming home to an immaculate house with cookies or pies or cakes in the oven. and so on. I wondered - what will my kids memories of me be? What will they think of me? Am I a failure as a mother that my kids won't have memories of me baking in the kitchen? That was the cake I just baked for my kids. Links to this post.
