http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2012/04/day-22-sightseeing-sights-and-k-pop.html
Monday, April 23, 2012. Day 22: Sightseeing Sights and K-Pop Part One. Not a bad way to continue the start of our adventure. and walk off our meal. Only one update this week. Sergey's back online! Although a bit confusingly, even though he has been India a month now, his first picture entry is from Beijing and its environs. Back to Korea. After we had exhausted our share of bugs and snails. So with that background, we descended into the middle of this 5.2 mile-long urban oasis. I had some friends in law ...

http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Day 83, 9.1: Porter-palooza. And my thoughts on KPAP/IMEC. As applied to Maasai Wanderings. Which I went over in one of my previous posts. Before I get to "Mawenzi in the Morning" below, a shout out to Ginger's blog. As I spent all-weekend with her, and 18 of our closest friends, on the ocean-side beach of Assateague Island. Camping among the horses. Below is our crew, with Resha and William on the left. The names of the people on our crew are below. Briefly:. 7) Samuel is the g...

Mike Kim Travels...: January 2012
http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Day 15.1: Pools, Palm Trees, and Peacocks. In other words, a Jebel-Ali. Paradise. Or Aladdin's oasis. Or something along those lines. Before I begin, however, Sergey has put together an awesome video (movie really - edited and everything! That details his journey through Africa. It's two hours long, so here is the first 30 minutes. Okay, back to the tale. Now, we are staying at the Oasis Beach Tower. Or other type of horizontal conglomerate? Wasteland. Sure we were still on...

Mike Kim Travels...: September 2011
http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Day 10.5: Sweet, Sweet Gravity. And the primer on how to run down a mountain. We spent about 20 minutes at the top, where we definitely felt light-headed. Still, we were determined to take our pictures, so we did that, and then finally, and somewhat reluctantly, we started to head down. We had probably walked about 30 minutes, when I realized something. So, we said goodbye to the glacier (we think Ratzner glacier) and began our descent. Or so we thought. And Jonas. Resha ...

Mike Kim Travels...: Day 2.1: First Order of Business...
http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2012/04/day-21-first-order-of-business.html
Monday, April 16, 2012. Day 21: First Order of Business. Food and shelter. Never forget. Food and shelter. I don't know. But for pretty much this reason, more people rent here than in comparable cities I have lived in. And apartments are everywhere. The above picture is from another friend Dave's wedding (yes, I know a lot of Davids), which I use to point out traditional Korean marital clothes. And yes ladies, the dress is a pain to get on. In a bit of irony, this one was taken in Houston. Th...And goes ...

Mike Kim Travels...: February 2011
http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 28, 2011. Day 1: The Saga of Ethiopian Airlines and a Shakedown. What you see above is the top of Uhuru peak swaddled in clouds as we passed just to the east of Kilimanjaro as we were about to land in Arusha. But that's later. How we got there:. Once we decided on Kili, the first thing we looked at were flights. The "least painful" way to get to Kilimanjaro is via a one-stop KLM. Beats the pants off other search engines for international flights). The land of Ski Dubai. We had a winner!

Mike Kim Travels...: August 2011
http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 30, 2011. Day 10.1 and Mexico City. I am sorry I have been delinquent these past two weeks. Between work, attending a four generation family reunion at Woodloch Resorts. And Mexico City, been a great, but busy, couple of weeks. The highlight of my Mexico City trip was definitely Yavin 4. But the soccer game was a close second. I have never seen more riot police in one place. Even when I was living in Korea during the Democracy riots. You see the line of riot police in the above photo?

Mike Kim Travels...: December 2011
http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 21, 2011. Day 14.2: Michael of Arabia. And Rahul and Resha and William. Since we were in the land of sand, sand, and sand, we thought it would be appropriate to go see some desert. We had heard about this Sundowner. Jeep safari offered by Arabian Adventures. Which was to host cricket, soccer, rubgy, horse racing, camel racing, and a few other things I forget. Looked about half-built and sort of creepy - like the amusement park scene at the end of Zombieland. We drove a short while thr...

Mike Kim Travels...: March 2012
http://mikekimtravels.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Day 17.1: End of One Road. But always the beginning of another. Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes. For some reason, I'm very philosophical about turning old enough to run for President. Totally coincidentally, I ate my birthday dinner at Lincoln. If you're in the DC area and don't have much to do on Friday evening, come by the Devil's Kitchen (basement) of The Big Hunt. We'll be there from 5:30PM until I can't remember how old I am. Before it goes in to archive. Or Ca...
