A Stitching Stone

Friday, July 6, 2012. Ok, I am back and hopefully with more consistency than the last two months. The beginning of the summer season is always hard because of the switch to being outside more and somehow an infinite amount of energy for my girls. I have been doing a little sewing but mostly birthday gifts for little girls and babies to come. Come back on Monday for a pattern review for a darling little pleated top that can also be a dress. Friday, May 18, 2012. I also learned my lesson about drying flann...

A Stitching Stone: KCWC Day 5, 6 & 7

http://astitchingstone.blogspot.com/2012/05/kcwc-day-5-6-7.html

Tuesday, May 1, 2012. KCWC Day 5, 6 and 7. Ok, so I dropped the ball a little bit at the end of KCWC but only in the blogging department. During the weekend I worked on a couple different tops for the girls and at the end came out with several pieces for each girl and a good start on their summer wardrobe. This is the first year that I have participated in KCWC and I loved it. I am still sorting through the flickr pool and looking for pictures that I want to save for future sewing ideas. Because I used a...

A Stitching Stone: April 2012

http://astitchingstone.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Friday, April 27, 2012. KCWC Day 4 - Balloon Bubble Shorts. My younger daughter M will be turning 2 in just under a month, sob. My little baby is growing up so fast and I can’t believe it. But, I am so excited for her birthday and knew that I wanted to make her something special to wear on her big day. For the bottoms to M’s birthday outfit I picked the Oliver S Puppet Show shorts which are some of my favorites. They are super easy to sew up and look so cute. Labels: KCWC Spring 2012. Well, I finally tac...

A Stitching Stone: Blah, Blah, Blah

http://astitchingstone.blogspot.com/2012/05/blah-blah-blah.html

Wednesday, May 16, 2012. Blah, Blah, Blah. Ok, I know things have been pretty non existent here for the last couple of weeks. The combination of KCWC sewing madness and speed sewing a couple of princess birthday dresses just put me over the edge. I decided to step away from all of the girl clothes projects I had planned and wanted to work on something for myself that might take a little bit of time. The Diplomat Dress by Lisette has been on my selfish sewing list for a while and I decided to just jump in.

A Stitching Stone: Birthday Girl Pajamas

http://astitchingstone.blogspot.com/2012/05/birthday-girl-pajamas.html

Friday, May 18, 2012. Birthday was last night and of course I had big plans of several things to make for her. Her birthday outfit was finished during KCWC so I was set for that but I could not decide on what else to make for her. She has plenty of hand me downs from A but I still wanted to make her something special that she would also get some use from. So, I decided to make her a pajama set for the summer. So, back to the pajamas. Once it was gathered I sewed it on to the bottom of the shorts, serged ...

A Stitching Stone: KCWC Day 2 - T Shirt Dress x2

http://astitchingstone.blogspot.com/2012/04/kcwc-day-2-t-shirt-dress-x2.html

Wednesday, April 25, 2012. KCWC Day 2 - T Shirt Dress x2. I am not sure what came over me when I bought these shirts. Now I remember, they were on the sale rack at Target. The green is a pretty but an odd color and once I got home I wasn’t sure if I would ever be able to match them up with something. As luck may have it I bought some of the Tula Pink Price Charming fabric line not even thinking about these shirts and when I went digging through the stash I found that they matched up perfectly. Just and F...

A Stitching Love Affair

A Stitching Love Affair. Thursday, December 29, 2016. The WIP and UFO List. Well since I had some time on my hands today, I got out all my WIPs and UFOs to have a look at and cringe about how many I have. Basically here is the list:. I really like her designs but I really don't like the huge amounts of backstitching and blended threads, in saying that I have 2 of her designs on the go. This is my oldest WIP (probably now a UFO) Started around 17-18 years ago. By Lavender and Lace. New start on 28/12/2016.

a stitch in lime | stumbling into creativity

A stitch in lime. September 19, 2014. Squishy sensory bags for the mess-phobic. Here are some I made yesterday. A sparkly ocean-esque one. This one is filled with blue hair gel (get that at the dollar store so as to not waste any money on quality — it ain’t for your hair), some extra blue food colouring to jazz up the colour, a packet of blue sequins, a small packet of tiny pearl beads, and some blue/silver glitter. For each of the bags, I followed these steps:. Press all the air out and seal zipper tight.
