A Sweet Thread: November 2013
http://asweetthread.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Jam, pastries and yarn intermingle with pet hair. Monday, November 25, 2013. For the last two weeks, I've been. I've been making pies to taste, making pies to sell at the Tomato Head restaurants, making gluten free pies, vegan pies, chocolate pies, pumpkin pies, pecan pies. Pies have been my life, at work, anyway. But two weeks ago, some friends and I went to the Slow Foods Tennessee Valley Pie Contest. ( http:/ tuesdayweavers.blogspot.com/2013/11/a-little-pie-in-sky.html. A pie But no matter! In the end...
A Sweet Thread: October 2014

Jam, pastries and yarn intermingle with pet hair. Saturday, October 25, 2014. The first blanket done will go to my co-worker who is due in less than a month. She is still working just as hard as ever, and sometimes, we need to ask her to slow down a little, but she's getting tired at the end of the day. Sometimes, I just want to ask her to sit down! But she never would. The underside, in early morning sunlight. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Brasstown, North Carolina, United States. View my complete profile.

Jam, pastries and yarn intermingle with pet hair. Sunday, May 4, 2014. I have finished a cardigan, a shawl and a pair of socks in the past week, and I am feeling pretty darn good about it! Today is supposed to be beautiful, but I need it to warm a little bit more before I get out there and garden. Might need one more cup of coffee and just a couple rows on the new sweater. What a lovely Sunday! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Brasstown, North Carolina, United States. View my complete profile.
A Sweet Thread: September 2014
http://asweetthread.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Jam, pastries and yarn intermingle with pet hair. Saturday, September 20, 2014. Even bakers get a holiday in common with others sometimes, and today is one. We had to work like the dickens yesterday, and will have more to do tomorrow, but we are closed today. I don't have any labor at home planned, either, but I would like to weave that blue-green scarf off the loom today. I have the warp for the baby blankets wound and waiting, and I have a slinky black bamboo warp waiting to woven into sexiness soon.
A Sweet Thread: Accomplishing Things

Jam, pastries and yarn intermingle with pet hair. Friday, March 6, 2015. As reported everywhere, it's been cold, icy and snowy here in Knoxville the last few weeks. And like LouAnn, Carol and Tina over at Loomy Tunes, I've been stuck inside on my days off. I kept myself busy, mostly sewing, looking at the back yard in its various stages of freeze and thaw. I'd rather be outside instead, but it's still cold, though sunny and beautiful. Bella and I strolled around the park, but came in when the wind ch...

Pine Ridge Handwovens: July 2012
http://pineridgehandwovens.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Another place we visited was the National Harbor. You can read about it here. http:/ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National Harbor, Maryland. It was filled with shops, restaurants and at least one hotel. There is a small beach area there with sand and a sculpture of a bearded man. I thought he looked like Posidon. Unusual, isn't it? There were children playing on the sculpture while we were there. Some even climbing into his mouth! Monday, July 30, 2012. It is only seven feet wide. There ...

Tuesday, December 27, 2011. One more day and I get to go home! I thought you might like to see one more picture of this rehab facility. Isn't this beautiful? It looks even better in person! Tonight's dinner special was filet mignon. It was absolutely delicious! This place is incredible but I will be so glad to go home. I want to sleep in my own bed with my own feather pillow and be among family. But all good things must come to an end. I have so much I want/need to do! Wednesday, December 21, 2011. This ...

Pine Ridge Handwovens: January 2012
http://pineridgehandwovens.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 27, 2012. Back on the loom bench again! I finally got to the studio today and did something productive! I wove half a dish towel. Is that all you say? For me it is a big deal. I haven't sat at a single loom there since before my surgery. It felt so good to be weaving again that I just sat there and relished the moment. This is what I have done so far. Hershey, my Netherland Dwarf rabbit was so happy for the company. Have a great weekend! Friday, January 6, 2012. Thursday, January 5, 2012.

Pine Ridge Handwovens: February 2012
http://pineridgehandwovens.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Today I wound another placemat warp. This time I am using Christmas colors. I am hoping the weft I have chosen for this warp works well with it. In the past I have woven placemats using various colors but this year I am warping with seasons in mind. The pile of woven items, waiting to be hemmed, on my sewing machine is growing. That is a good thing! Monday, February 27, 2012. A new member of the farm family. Those horns look a bit intimidating, don't they? I wonder why he ha...

Pine Ridge Handwovens: Antique wheel
http://pineridgehandwovens.blogspot.com/2014/09/antique-wheel.html
Wednesday, September 17, 2014. There were other things that needed to be done before it was ready to use. The wheel had to be glued back together and the flier had a crack that also needed glueing. Then a new drive band and it was ready to take for a spin. I think this wheel will do nicely for what I was looking for but you know what? I am so glad I got to post this week! Blogger has not been letting me post. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Crazy as a Loom. RVing: Small House. BIG Backyard.

Pine Ridge Handwovens: June 2012
http://pineridgehandwovens.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 30, 2012. What I have been up to. It has been so long since I have posted last that I don't know where to begin! This month was my second show of this year. It was the Lavender Festival. I wasn't sure about doing this festival because when I did it a couple of years ago sales were okay but not great. This year sales were better than expected. I will be doing this show again. This is what happens when you are in a hurry and working with a very sharp knife. I cut the tip of my thumb off!

Pine Ridge Handwovens: August 2014
http://pineridgehandwovens.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 20, 2014. It has been a very long time since I wrote anything on this blog, hasn't it. Life has been busy here at Pine Ridge Handwovens. First of all I had four new goat kids born. I kept two and sold two. This is Ailen. Our son named him. It is Irish for handsome. It is a good name don't you think? I always wanted a red headed, blue eyed child! Not exactly thinking goat when I wished that. Here are some scarves I have woven on the Cricket. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Crazy as a Loom.

Jam, pastries and yarn intermingle with pet hair. Sunday, March 4, 2018. It's been a rough month at the folk school, what with two people quitting way back in November and not being replaced yet. I've worked a lot of 12 hour days, and not too many days off, but I have managed to work on the upcoming baby's things. My sous chef is 7 1/2 months pregnant now, and I need to get these things done! Doesn't call off again. But progress is being made, and I feel optimistic about finishing in time! I drove to Fra...
